Star Wars TV shows need to be kept in the animated realm. Live action should remain strictly on the silver screen. Star Wars calls for a level of visual effects which cannot be easily done on a television budget. If the producers want to do a story which requires far more of an FX budget than is normally feasible, that means they have no choice but to write some less action packed episodes, so they can loot their budget instead. We saw this happen countless times on Battlestar Galactica. Sometimes it resulted in a compelling episode, but just as often it seemed like filler.

Animation doesn't suffer from these sorts of limits. Space battles or a boxing match, it all costs about the same when it goes to the animators.

The title of this thread is misleading. ABC isn't doing anything yet, they have just expressed an interest.

Does anyone really want a live TV show? I want to go to Blur Studios and tell them to stop making great trailers for games that only disappoint. I want Blur Studios to do an Old/New Republic TV show that looks as good as the trailers they made.

I'd be down for this. I'm so jonesed that Star Wars has been resurrected and taken out of the hands of GL that I can't wait for something of substance to start really coming down the pipeline with tangible news.
