"I saw your Boobs" was genius. Anyone getting mad at it completely missed the satire and probably has a terrible sense of humor anyway.

Overall I thought he was pretty good AND he knew how to cover when a joke fell flat. I mean, come on people! We spend the whole night fawning over the gross opulence of the other side. Lighten up.

I agree the haters didn't get it, even though it was super obvious.

For the past 4 years, the MTV Movie Awards have been a laughing stock. They did nothing but honor the Twilight saga. This year, it seems like they're trying to restore some credibility. Considering Jennifer Lawrence's popularity with the target audience, I wouldn't be surprised to see "Silver Linings" win. But I can also see guys wanting revenge after all those years of Twilight. So maybe "Avengers" or "Dark Knight Rises." Either way, it's good to see the MTV Movie Awards be guy-friendly again. Movies like "Terminator 2", "The Matrix", and "LOTR: Return of the King" won Best Movie.

They're still irrelevant, but at least now they're not annoying.

They were a lot more respectable in the '90s. Terminator 2, A Few Good Men, Menace II Society, Pulp Fiction, Se7en, and The Matrix were among the winners for Best Movie. They simply went downhill when online voting was introduced. Since then it has been the LOTR Trilogy and Twilight Saga as the big winners.

Breakout Performance - Rebel Wilson, Pitch Perfect
Best Scared-as-s**t performance - Suraj Sharma, Life of Pi
Best On-Screen Duo - Mark Wahlberg and Seth MacFarlane, Ted
Best Shirtless Performance - Taylor Lautner, Twilight
Best Fight - The Avengers
Best Kiss - Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence, Silver Linings
Best WTF Moment - "Candieland gets smoked" in Django Unchained
Best Villain - Tom Hiddleston, The Avengers

The MTV awards were surprisingly good this year. Rebel Wilson was a funny host. There was also good comedy sketches like Seth Rogen & Danny McBride presenting the Best Shirtless category and Will Ferrell's tribute to his wife and children.

You can be negative about it or give it a positive spin by acknowledging its improvement.

Plus MTV has an award for Best Kiss.

Though your right, this is the most respectable they've been in a while. I still don't think I can ever take them even the slightest bit seriously.

The Avengers victory was underwhelming considering half the cast wasn't there. Although, Tom Hiddelston sure made-up for it. Jennifer Lawrence was also a no-show. I'm sure MTV regrets moving the awards to April. They should have kept it in Late May or Early June. All the stars are in town promoting their summer blockbusters so it's easy for them to attend.

In any other thread on any other topic I would offer something positive, but come on. The MTV movie awards, and just about everything MTV period, is not to be taken seriously whatsoever and is just really dumb. Whatever stars are there go to promote their own upcoming films and nothing is ever clever or funny or creative. I remember a few years ago when Jack Black did a LOTR spoof and made the Ring into....wait for it, a c^ck ring!! Heyyooo! The fact we're talking about the MTV movie awards in the same thread as Oscar discussion is shameful, SHAAAMEful!
