Seldom does a lead character in a tv series becomes the instant fan favorite and in Buffys case thats true. She was ok enough in seasons through 4 but she in the later seasons became well the word the rhymes with Itchy and she just became not very tolerable at times. However it was not enough of an irk to hate her.

4 Rupert Giles.

There is no one more perfectly cast character then Tony Head playing Rupert Giles. He had great patience for if i was buffy's watcher I likely would have smacked her in the head a few times.
