There's a very nice copy of of the official Toho 1954 Godzilla film under the title "Gojira" that I got awhile back. In the same arena, I got the official Toho double disc of War of The Gargantuas and Rodan for a bit under 20 bucks at one of the few remaining Suncoast stores before they went under. All films are subbed in English and are very nice quality.

Of special note is the featurette "Bringing Godzilla Down To Size" on the double disc. It's a documentary about Toho's golden days, and has loads of interviews with surviving actors and crew\FX people. For the things you learn about how these movies were made, it's worth it's weight in gold.

Just watched Shock Corridor. Pretty intense, I liked it.

Out of the two Fuller's I liked The Naked Kiss more. Still really enjoy them both.

I've seen his White Dog movie, wasn't a big fan of that. Naked Kiss is on my list of things to do the next few days though.

I loved White Dog. I know it's almost a cheesy made for TV film but I still really liked it.

Also, four Blu-ray titles are going out of print, so get them before they shoot up in price if you want them:

Army of Shadows
Le cercle rouge
Le doulos (DVD)
Last Year at Marienbad
Léon Morin, Priest
Mafioso (DVD)

Seems to mostly be comprised of Melville. Chances are Studio Canal is grabbing them.

So I'm brand new to this kinda thing, but I'm planning on putting some of my Criterion DVDs on Amazon to see if they'll sell so I can use that money to buy the blu rays when I see them on sale, that way I won't be too much out of pocket. I figured I'd put them on there for $12 each + s&h and looking now I see some of them are $15 or so used, so that's good news for me.

But I figured I'd ask some of you guys first to see if anyone would care to pick any of them up. Not sure if this is against CS! rules but I thought why not, maybe some of you will actually want them. I'm not sure how we'd do the transaction, I guess we could figure that out if anyone was interested first but would anyone here be interested in these DVDs (stress DVDS, not blu rays) for $12 each? The shipping will be on me as a little CS! discount.

Modern Times
The Great Dictator
The Red Shoes
Paths of Glory
Harakiri
Solaris
Diabolique

....I can list more if anyone is interested.

The Criterion website just threw up their upcoming July releases:

The Life of Oharu - July 9
Lord of the Flies - July 16
Babette's Feast - July 23
The Ice Storm - July 23
The Devil's Backbone - July 30, it's also spine #666, see what Criterion did there?

Another solid month, I'll be snaking a few of those as that should be the same time as the big Barnes and Noble sale.
