It's amazing how easy it is is to err on the side of caution concerning spoilers.

It's just weird that they've released a shot from the third film when the first film isn't even properly out yet.

Its more then likely after certain events that this is still a scene in Hobbit 2. They could be in the camp down below because in the Rankin and Bass movie Bilbo leads them out to see two massive camp fire army formations.

No i am decifering a picture and used it based off knowing there are 3 movies and it looks like a camp scene and so it easily could be in 2 still and not a 3rd movie still. Hate to tell you I can use rankin and bass as a point because its been out a long a$$ time.

Raimi would have been a horrible choice after seeing OZ, his CGI always looked fake to me and in OZ the green screen was terrible with franco and others.

Warner Bros. claims Tolkien Estate breached Hobbit contract
Warner Bros. is going after the estate of author J.R.R. Tolkien hard in litigation over online slot machines and games tied to the lucrative Lord of the Rings and Hobbit properties. In November, the Tolkien estate and and its book publisher HarperCollins filed an $80 million lawsuit that claimed that Rings/Hobbit producers including Warner Bros. had infringed the copyright in the books and breached a contract by overstepping their rights. Rings/Hobbit rightsholder Saul Zaentz Co. already made their own counterclaim that the Tolkien estate has breached an implied covenant of good faith and fair dealing by going down this road. Now, it’s Warners’ turn. The studio, represented by pitbull attorney Daniel Petrocelli, is now striking back at the Tolkien estate with amended counterclaims that alleges the Tolkien estate’s repudiation has cost Warners to miss out on millions of dollars of licensing opportunities. The studio demands damages for the alleged breach of contract. http://www.theonering.net/torwp/2013...bbit-contract/ ------------------------------------------------------------ The Tolkiens did have a say - they had it for decades - right up until they sold the rights. That's what selling the rights means. If they wanted to keep control - and influence - they shouldn't have sold the rights. Christopher Tolkien did incredible wonders to develop his Father's heritage - we wouldn't have the Silmarilion, History of Middle-earth or the children of Hurin without him, and we owe him a great deal of thanks. But he sold the rights, meaning he let go of control. It's always sad when the creator of something wonderful loses influence in his own creation (look at Gene Roddenbury), but the family made a deal for a fixed price and that's that. It's unfortunate that they have missed out on so much of the profits - but it could be argued that there wouldn't have even been said profits if they HADN'T sold. After all, it wasn't the family that went and made the movies. That said, if the deal stipulated "no gambling" then no gambling it should have been. No one is coming out of this smelling of roses.

Jackson is a good director, but him coming out of horror movie background really shows...I always expected LOTR to be done in brighter colours, the whole damn film was like green-grey-black...
