Duke dies and this movie looks awesome. Duke comes back and suddenly... I'm uninterested.

He can't be, originally he's dead. They only shot additional scenes with him in it just to make it appear that he's alive again. But with such a short time from it's original release date and it's new one, I'm sure he won't be in a lot of the movie, which makes the delay all the more pathetic that they wanted to have him included in a film that the fans were happy to see him out of. Go back to Magic Mike, Channing!

That's what I meant. They killed him in the opening action scene. But now, he'll likely show up at the end and somehow be alive.

Lots of movie related toys never sell unless the fanbase for the films themselves are strong enough.
