When Michael Keaton was cast as Batman, fans complained because they thought the film would be based on the 1960's TV series. It also didn't help that Tim Burton's previous two films were comedies. So, on December 2nd, 1988, Warner Bros made an effort to shut everyone up by releasing the first trailer with prints of its Mel Gibson film, Tequilla Sunrise. Which, ironically enough, co-starred Michelle Pfeiffer. What you are about to see is what launched the Bat-Mania of 1989. ALSO, keep in mind that principal photography had barely wrapped when this "trailer" was quickly put together by the studo. As a result, it's just an assembly of raw footage with no music whatsoever. But anyway, here ya go:
