If they really wanted to reward long-time viewers of the series, they would have gone back to what Jeff said in Season 1 about ordering a steak at a restaurant by himself for a graduation gift to himself, only bring in the other six obviously. I genuinely thought they would do that, it seemed so perfect it practically wrote itself.

If this is indeed the finale, I was satisfied. They gave Jeff some closure and that's the best we could have hoped for considering the circumstances.

Sony wasn't gonna let the show die right before it began its syndication run on Comedy Central. Plus, they want the show to reach 100 episodes so the syndication package is more stable. Season 5 will be 13 episodes so we'll likely end up getting "six seasons and a movie."

The first two seasons are amazing, arguably better than Community, but season 3 was a mess. They lost the Russo Bros (Arrested Development, Community) since they went off to direct the new Captain America movie. And the two showrunners on season 4 of Community were producers on the show, so they lost them too. If USA picks up the show, they desperately need a new creative staff.

Re: Happy Endings: Sorry, but I disagree. Season 3 was excellent, about on part with season 2. Anyone wanting to get into the show should know that Season 1 had the same shaky start that Parks and Recreation had, however.

While I agree that the first two seasons of Happy Endings were the best, I thought season 3 was "good."

So, "Community" state of the union: I felt the magic die out in season 2 and have been watching with mild interest since. I really liked this season more than season 3, and the season 4 finale this past week really ... it kind of just reinvigorated my love for the show. I didn't think I would care if it was renewed or not, but I am happy it is coming back. I'm also glad Chevy isn't returning as I think they pick on his character way too much.

Season 3 had some of the best episodes but also some of the worst. I think Dan Harmon got too carried away with all the meta humor.

Three has some hits, but also misses. And it exaggerates all the characters until they are walking caricatures.
