I've become more forgiving of Netflix, but it's hard to get behind Hulu, especially with the ads.

Hulu is the tv fix for the cable-less equation. The movie selection is beyond horrid so don't get it for that, Netflix is a thousand times better in the movie department. Get it for the tv shows, but admittedly even that could use work too.

I remember I had Hulu Plus for a little bit and I wasn't able to stream Happy Endings on my PS3, as it was only available to view on PC for some reason.
