Meh -- not sure how I feel about it. Battle sequences look good, but the giants look poorly rendered.

I don't really understand the need to create giants with CGI. Is simply making normal sized people appear large so difficult to do?

It reminds me of a similar situation with I Am Legend. That movie was even worse in that regard.

Peter Jackson did an amazing job back in the early 2000s when he made Hobbits and Dwarves, I don't see how hard something like that is to do a whole decade later. Hell, Jackson is about to show them how it's done yet again come next month. Sometimes, I question how these films get made and why such poor CGI is used. The kicker for me was the cost of Green Lantern and it's final CGI product.

I enjoyed I Am Legend until those CGI monsters turned up. Ruined the whole film for me.
