Oh, you mean like Movie Modul, menithings, TheHorrorGuru, and Vald the Impaler? Better make sure to warn them about spamming, too.

Or is this not "Creative Corner" where I can share my...umm...creativity? "For amateur film questions, fan fiction stories and any other creative medium." Unless it's been worded differently in the last 5 seconds?

I don't see any creativity. I see links.

Not sure why you decided to single me out when Vlad, HorrorGuru, and Modul are doing the exact same thing. What makes HorrorGuru's links to his reviews and articles somehow less "spam" than my links to my reviews and articles?

I suggest redirecting your eerily personal vendetta against me to the other mods and ask them to make changes to the Creative Corner rules and instruct all of us who have posted links to our creative work to remove said links and copy and paste our creative content within the threads themselves.

Until you do so, I will assume you're trolling me just to troll me. Either that or for some reason that is entirely escaping my capacity to find a rational conclusion. You and I have barely interacted on here, let alone in a negative way. Did I run over your squirrel or something?

You're posting links to your movie site. In other words, you're trying to steal readers from ComingSoon by posting at ComingSoon. You're not a creative person posting links to their work. You're a blogger promoting a site. So yes, it is spam.

Please explain to me how what I'm doing here is any different than what HorrorGuru or Vlad are doing.

Here is an excerpt from the very beginning of Vlad's thread...

"Cinematic Shocks [which is a link to his blog] is my new blog. I will be publishing a new article on average once a week"

Followed by the next post...

"I have just published my review of the independent horror suspense thriller Rage (2010) [Whoa, get this, it's a link to his review...wait for it...on his friggin blog.]

Thanks for reading."

By the way, Vlad, HorrorGuru, or those I'm using as examples, I am in no way meaning offense to you nor do I feel your work is spam.

Please, seriously, enlighten me how my thread is any different. This is completely unfair and it's utterly strange I am being singled out here. Also, I'll be screencapping this thread just in case someone decides to go all power hungry and pull a schystery fast one on me for virtually no good reason.

Sorry for the confusion.

Articles are not a big deal. If the movie in question has active review threads here on our forum, then post that review in it's review thread. You can post a link to it in passing at the end.

Vlad's reviews are all very selective, typically older movies, or non-mainstream. I've made an exception to some of his because they're more particular, and creating separate threads for every single one of them would create even more clutter/spam than just restricting them to his own thread. I have monitored every one of his posts, and if he ever had posted a link to a review for something we were discussing, I would direct him to that discussion (which I have before, and he complied).

No one said anything about your first link, but there's no reason not to post your review of Prometheus in our current review thread and join the discussion. There's a difference between coming on someone else's movie site, and movie community, to direct them to another movie community discussing the same things, than someone like Vlad who's letting people know about a site that has articles/reviews that we don't discuss or have much to do with.

As I've said in the past, we ARE lenient with the Creative Corner forum. I have no issue with posting personal links in your own personal threads, such as articles. Personally, though, I think it would be better to post the articles as well on here. If people enjoy what you've written, then they may want to go visit your site as a result to read more. It seems shady JUST posting a link to the article.

But that's where our leniency in this forum shows.

Thank you, honestly, for clearing this up.

Whether or not you believe me, I'm not looking to "steal readers" or get people to migrate from here to there or anything of the sort. I just plain want to share my work in as perfectly a harmless way as possible. I just want to make certain that's very clear to everyone.

I prefer not to paraphrase or summarize if I don't have to because it's already written better than I could ever retell it somewhere else. I'd also like to not post the review in its entirety since it technically belongs to my employer. Exceptions can and will be made depending on your answer to the following questions, however.

To clarify, when you say, "If the movie in question has active review threads here on our forum, then post that review in it's review thread. You can post a link to it in passing at the end," that means I can make a post stating something like, "Hey, guys, I dug Prometheus as well. I felt it could have been better because of a and b. If you want to, read my full review here..." ? Just leave out a mention of the link at all and plainly leave said link at the end of the post without directly referencing it? Or actually post the ENTIRE review and include the link at the bottom?

EDIT:

Looks like you answered my question in another thread -- which I can't seem to locate right now -- in regards to someone else who had a similar issue as I did. Basically, you said to post the whole review. Don't paraphrase or summarize. Link at the bottom. Correct?

Glad I could be of service.

Anyway, I apologize for the confusion. I sincerely did not understand the rules or how what I was doing was anything but harmless. It completely eluded me.

Thanks, Fanible, for helping me out without resorting to extremes.
