Did anyone else catch the new British A&E series MI-5?
Anyone have thoughts on it?

I thought it was pretty good. The acting was surprisingly good, becuase from what I've seen of other British dramas it is usually over acted.
The story, about an American anti-abortion terrorist bomber in England, was very intense and really did a good job at bringing out emotion. The Aestetics were shockingly modern, almost in a Guy Ritchie multiple camera angle, split screen way. But it serves the plot and story by showing the audience the same sort of views the actual agents have on their screens. And the audience really get a good sense of the action with multiple, fast changing characters voices that really amplifies the action. The next episode looks really shocking: Its about infiltrating a racists gang and in the preview we the two agents under cover being beaten and tortured... I now have something to watch on Tuesdays.

I liked it. It was good to see Jenny Agutter in something again. The first episode plot of the abortionist bomber was interesting, due to the fact that I, along with the MI-5 guys at first thought it was Irish or Arab terrorists....nice twist.

Yeah, my first thought was IRA thinking they would have kept it simple.

MI-5 is on here Tuesdays @ 10pm on A+E
Here's a link to the US website... Maybe its just called something different here because we don't use the term spooks very often, it makes sense.... Although I wonder how many people know what MI-5 is and the differences with MI-6? MI-5

Spooks is a nickname for MI-5, I think they called it
MI-5 in the US, as they thought some US wouldn't understand what Spooks is.
