Bracelets is an interesting idea, but I don't know how you could make them roll true - they wouldn't necessarily be as stable as a ring on a finger for the spin.

Interesting - I really like the artwork on the figures here for this game. Sounds like an interesting cooperative board game system.
I'll have to wait to pledge on this one until after the holidays - I really don't have many visitors, but I love games darn it!

At least I know people who will definitely play when they come over.

This is the Kingdom Death web site - it has some nice fan painted miniatures and other info on it, although it is still early in development - three years of planning and they are very cautious but promise a great gaming experience.

I don't know how I feel about Kickstarter yet. It seems to be flooding the market with less than stellar games. But some really good ones have come from it as well.

Yeah, I'm not buying everything there lol - the Kingdom Death system sounds a lot like Third Edition D&D, but still interesting. No DM to piss off or get pissed at

I just got the Game of Thrones card game. Seems an awful lot like Magic which I was too young to get into when it was popular in my neighborhood. First step, learn how to play. Second step, find anyone to play with.

I play the board game, but not the card game. I guess those collectible card games like Magic still have a stigma to them.

Fantasy Flight Games is starting to wise up to that random collectible card ordeal.
They have boxed sets of cards and expansions - no randomness everyone gets the same cards in each box.
That seems a whole lot better than ending up with 30 copies of the worst card made and none of the most powerful.

Its not great with two. It works best with 3 or 4 people. So maybe if you got another couple to play it would work well. Settlers has a strong trading aspect to it, so if there are people you know who like the trading properties part of Monopoly, try selling it to them that way.

If you want a game for just you and your girlfriend, I would suggest Dominion. Its a card game that is really easy to learn, really quick to play, and a lot of fun.

I had fun with just me and my nephew playing it, but most games that can extend to multiple players do play better with more people.
We didn't trade anything in that - So I'm not familiar with that aspect of the game. Apparently it has expanded to include cards - we did not have those either - just the hexes, resource dies, and road pieces from what I recall - maybe some other pieces I don't recall - it was several years ago.
