Die Hard like Lethal Weapon flew well because of the Brother aspect. Its like hollywood is afraid to use or kill off a brother now. Since Obama became boss. It seems like movies with Black action characters have changed somewhat.

Sometimes I’m convinced that Vader is actually an 18 year old, Ivy League student who’s perpetrating the greatest troll-hoax in this history of CS! Because there’s no way anyone else would be able to legitimately come up with these posts.

Yes see i am a veteran Doom and Gloom. However really i talk and type really fast and so many people ask what to when i say something. I often have to repeat sentances and likely the typing stuff is no different.

Its something I call being my learning disability weakness. My on going sentances become jumbled up on print or paper while they seem better in my head.

hmmmmm saw this yesterday, and like a couple of you said, its a good action movie, BUT, It is not a DIE HARD. meh hope they can muster out at least 1 more, bruce willis in one location and like 20 bad guys. Hell make him finally go on vacation retired on a cruise ship, have it get taken over. Just go back to the basics now. Bring it home. I still think the R rated version of 4 is just as good as the first 3 but the pg 13 version isn't. It makes a big difference.

The biggest problem the writers of Die Hard sequels face is all the Die Hard knock-offs that came in the wake of the original Die Hard's success.

Die Hard on a cruise ship = Speed 2
Die Hard on a battleship = Under Siege
Die Hard on a train = Under Siege 2
Die Hard at a sports arena = Sudden Death
Die Hard on a plane = Passenger 57 & Air Force One
Die Hard in a slum apartment tower = The Raid & Dredd

That's just off the top of my head. Pretty much every permutation of Die Hard in a ____ has already been done by another movie.

As for this movie, it's a fun, dopey action flick that bears almost no resemblance whatsoever to Die Hard. There are certain elements that even most Die Hard in a ____ movies don't use, which should always be present in the genuine article. McClane should be in radio/cellphone contact with someone "on the outside" who is giving him moral and tactical support, the way Sgt. Powell did in the original. Several different people filled this role in Die Hard 2. An incompetent authority figure should be there to be manipulated by the Big Bad, as Deputy Chief Robinson and Carmine Lorenzo did for the first two. There needs to be a reporter who's throwing fuel onto the fire, like Thornburg did in the first two (and considering that this movie opened with a news broadcast, they really missed the boat here). After the Big Bad is killed and everyone thinks the trouble is over, the main heavy needs to show up to make one last stab at killing McClane, the way Karl did in the original.

I'm a half black man and I feel offended by this post, what do you think, the movie isn't good enough if 'our' people aren't in it!? we all can't be 'Sam Jackson' we can't just say 'nah man, you can't say the N word, they kill yeah boi' no sir, we are serious people like Denzel, we should be taken seriously not for comic purposes...disgusting I feel so sick.

Die Hard- He really doesn't need anyone cause the intel provided by Reginald VelJohnson doesn't help him whatsoever, VelJohnson just argues with his Captain that McClane is a cop inside.

Die Hard 2- Who is buddy? no one, he encounters an Airport Police Captain, a Janitor, and gets VelJohnson to fax something, oh and the receptionist.

Die Hard 3- Is when you see a 'buddy' someone whos with him on scene from first to the end scene, Samuel Jackson assisted McClane the whole time, this was the first time seeing a 'buddy' with McClane.

Die Hard 4.0- Justin Long, an uber hacker was dragged along by McClane from first to the end scene where he gets a bit of 'balls' to take on Olyphant and his crew. This is a 'buddy' since he was from the first to the end.

A Good Day To Die Hard - His son is his buddy.

None of this really even matters, hes John McClane and he can surf on a harrier jet while defeating villains since 1988!
