As someone who was once affilated with BBC America (I won't get into details), it amuses me how popular the channel has gotten. Everyone is excited for March 30th:

BBC America is one of the main reasons I cancelled my satellite service. My provider continually lied to me about getting BBCA in HD. I finally got sick of it and dropped them. A few months later, they finally got HD. I'm used to life without 500 channels now, so I don't much care. I look forward to the day when cable channels go independent and just stream/download straight to the Internet.

as long as cable companies are providing internet service, this will never happen. whoever agreed to let them both combine and sell the service to people, should be shot, it is such a clear conflict of interest, especially when they are throttling people for going over an arbitrary 'cap'.

It depends on the channel. For example, all the AMC shows are on Netflix. If channels begin to rebel, especially with all these carriage battles going on, I can see them messing up the providers. The ideal thing would be for cable and satellite to offer channels a la carte.

I don't know about Orphan Black, but The Nerdist is not an import show. It's made here in the USA for BBCA. It's a talk show for fanboys.
