Actually They were part of a more equal collective group. I think Characters were created by the other writers and some of the non Cursed Pirate Stuff. The Cursed Pirates stuff was what Ted and Terry gave to it. My point is I think sequels would have been better if had the same group effort.

Dead Mans Chest and At Worlds End had great entertainment value. Its not as good as Curse Of The Black Pearl but Its still seems right. Pirates 4 just seemed out of placed from even The Sequels. I love Ian McShane and at first viewing it was a pretty good attempt without Will and Liz.

But I think Johnny needed stronger actors to play off of and Olrando and Kiera were missed in Pirates 4 as well as Gore as director. At times Pirates 4 is good and other times seems a bit empty and not as good as the other Prequels even.

Depp is the best thing about all 4 movies, easily. His talents are more wasted in his recent Burton collabs.

While I can understand why some may have had enough of his Jack Sparrow schtick, I personally would welcome more.

for the reasons you love it, davy jones, all the calypso and mystic bull****, and the disney 'comedy' not to mention the absolutely TERRIBLE fight scenes. just over the top cornball slapstick fight scenes that are the lowest common denominator for action movies, almost like posting a pic that says 'haters gonna hate' at all times on a movie forum, i won't even complain about the convoluted story line like most other people, the whole way it is filmed and made bothers me, especially the directors choices in the action scenes, he filmed them with 5 year olds in mind.

and great googly moogly, ending a movie on a cliffhanger.

It's only convoluted if you're not paying attention. Pirates 2 and 3 are telling the same story. They spent 5 hours on it. If "Pirates of the Caribbean" is convoluted then so is "Lord of the Rings."

The movie is made for 13 year olds, it is very convoluted compared to other 13 year old aimed flicks.

If we are going here then you got no legs in this one. POTC does not compare in the same sentance as LOTR. The Hobbit is not Rings but its better then Pirates 4 and 3 atleast.

Pirates movies are fun and I have them all but they are not Rings level. I find Transformers fun too but no way are they great movie gems. Its just sometimes I like to watch a good action blow em up.

All I remember of #3 is that they needed to stab Davey Jones' heart so they could kill him but whoever stabbed the heart became captain of the Flying Dutchman and the heart was kept in the Dead Man's Chest that could only be opened with the key around Davey Jones' neck and Jack wanted to kill him but he was swallowed by the Kraken who then took him to Davey Jones' Locker and had to be rescued by the other guys so they could bring Jack to the pirate council because the India Trading Company was going to kill all the pirates but they needed Calypso to turn into a goddess and WTF?!?!?!?!
