Doctor Zhivago

Solid film all around, though a little long. I don't know how or why I keep picking films with such long running times, but regardless.

As usual, Lean's direction is stellar. One of my favorite scenes in the entire film is when Yuri's mother dies, and the cinematography and editing are very precise. Lean has a knack for creating huge, epic films with amazing set-pieces.

My one major criticism would be that they speak English instead of Russian. Now I realize that it might have been difficult for English speaking audiences to grasp or connect to, but it really took the realism out of the story.

Oh yeah, I'm in for the next round as well.

Yeah, sorry about the run time. It's an all-day event on some days.

I'll go with Beasts of the Southern Wild, but it's set at "long wait" on Netflix. I supose I could cut the wait time down by choosing a DVD instead of a blu-ray, but I kinda don't want to do that...

There's always On Demand.

And, since I'm such an Alfred Hitchcock fan, I'm gonna go with Lifeboat.
