Doctor Zhivago

Solid film all around, though a little long. I don't know how or why I keep picking films with such long running times, but regardless.

As usual, Lean's direction is stellar. One of my favorite scenes in the entire film is when Yuri's mother dies, and the cinematography and editing are very precise. Lean has a knack for creating huge, epic films with amazing set-pieces.

My one major criticism would be that they speak English instead of Russian. Now I realize that it might have been difficult for English speaking audiences to grasp or connect to, but it really took the realism out of the story.

Ill go with Mary and Max, also had a question. Is that movie ok to watch with a 8 year old? Not sure if it has anything bad in it or not. May watch with niece if it is good for children also.
