Discussions are just getting underway with such original castmembers as Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz and Christopher Mintz-Plasse, and they will have to be signed to new deals to reprise their roles. The raucous 2010 film was directed by Matthew Vaughn; it was made for $28 million and grossed $48.1 million domestic and $103 million worldwide. The original was released by Lionsgate but became a free ball controlled by Vaughn. He can’t direct the sequel because of his commitments to his X-Men: First Class follow-up, but he is backing it and is fully supportive of handing over the reins. Wadlow, who wrote and directed 2005′s Cry Wolf, wrote the Kick-Ass 2 script for Vaughn, and it has already come before Universal’s green-light committee. I expect a deal to be closed shortly. Wadlow is repped by WME.

Nicolas Cage was great in Kick-Ass. And his track record hasn't been good either. So, as Ramplate said, they're trying to replicate that. HOWEVER, Jim Carrey, unlike Cage, always delivers a solid performances. Just because Carrey has made a few clunkers doesn't mean he's been doing bad acting.

I am not really sure why it will suck because it's sequel to Kick-Ass? If it's your opinion that the first movie sucked, than that is your opinion. Why try to bring the excitement down for other people who are fans.

I personally loved the first comic and movie. I am very excited for the sequel. I have some apprehensions for the sequel because of the new director. I liked the trailer, and from it it looks like Jim Carrey might steal the show. I just hope it's a good movie. At least from the trailer they look like they are staying very close to the comic, which is a good thing IMO.

Batman Forever is still my favourite live action Batman movie of all time.

I hate Tim Burton's Batman movies that are so dark even the snow is navy blue/black and Nolan's Batman movies are good but take themselves way too serious (Ironic that his Joker asked the question, "Why so serious?")

I prefer a more serious/grounded approach to Batman which is why TDK is my favorite Batman movie. Batman Forever wasn't as bad as people make it out to be but neither was Batman Returns. At the end of the day, everyone has a different expectation of what a Batman film should be. However, if there's someone who genuinely liked Batman & Robin (and not in a so bad it's good kind of way) I'm betting they're retarded or as my friend's g/f once said "the correct term is MR!". Oh yeah about Kick-Ass 2, it doesn't have that slick visual aesthetic that the original gave us or Matthew Vauhgn's direction but it has Jim Carrey having fun in a role which is something I haven't seen in a long time. Ticket sold.
