My girlfriend's review of that pic was that he wasn't good looking enough to be Superman.

Reeves and Welling are spitting images of Supes ripped right from the pages of the comics

Cavill really doesn't look much like Supes, he bares a resemblence but it's not as spot on as past actors, plus (much like Cain), he's missing the S curl (and before anyone tries claiming the S curl isn't important, sorry, it really very much is). Not that it's going to stop me from watching (and hopefully liking) the film as it didn't for Lois & Clark: TNAOSM

but I already know that's something that's always going to bother me

2 Things:

The missing S curl is nothing compared to the missing red speedos.
Lois & Clark: TNAOSM - The New Adventures of Superman. "of" shouldn't be in the abbreviation just like it also doesn't get a capital "o". Speaking of, neither should "man" becuase "Superman" is one word unlike Spider-Man.

The S curl is definitely an issue. I could easily do without the red speedo, but the outfit just doesn't look right without some color around the middle. They should have given him a red belt, the way they did for the New 52 redesign. As blasphemous at it may be to say, but I kinda prefer that version of the costume to the classic one with the red shorts and gold belt.

Coming from an outside party; no, no you weren't correct. Superman is one word, not two, PERIOD. There is no debate there. So putting it down as SM at the end makes no sense whatsoever. I'm sorry.

How about just call it Lois & Clark or L&C? There's literally no other show called Lois and Clark that's in reference to Superman. So no need to add the "New Adventures" part. And for the record, Dean Cain was a great Clark Kent. Although his Superman was a bit crappy.

I don't understand people that think Superman (and by extention, Kryptonians) can't wear armour. Lex might punch Superman and break his own fist but Superman might need armour to fight Darkseid. On earth they may be near invulnerable but they aren't on their own world or out of the reach of our yellow sun. I always hate in cartoons and comics when Superman is still Super on alien planets.

The guns will probably be something to do with a war on Krypton. It is often shown to be a war zone not long before it exploded.
