All this means is that we'll get to see Rocket Raccoon in a movie.

Going by the concept art released over the weekend instead of that pic......
It would appear we will see Peter Quill/Starlord ![]() Drax the Destroyer ![]() Gamora ![]() Rocket Raccoon ![]() and Groot ![]() In the original posted picture we can also see Warlock and Phylla Vell who I would expect not to be appearing as they would be very complex characters to try to introduce without a slew of backstory. In the Avengers Assemble comic (the story they say is cannon that is mimicking the movies as much as possible) there is also a character called Bug who has not appeared in any concept art I have seen yet... not sure where the comic really stands though as they have yet to explain a few things about Thanos and Star Lord (and my boy Nova... who would make a great movie all on his own and tie in nicely with less baggage) but that would be big comic spoilers so I wont go into it. Reccomended Reading: Annihilation Annihilation: Conquest Nova Guardians of the Galaxy War of Kings Realm of Kings The Thanos Imperitive

The Comic Con Poster for them was one of the coolest team posters I ever seen. I like sci fi so i'll check this out. I hope its good because we don't have many good un remake sci fi movies anymore.

Not really.... more ties to Thanos than the Avengers. If it was the original Guardians (or if they had included Major Victory, kinda shocks me that they didn't actually) there would be a little more Avengers history there but as is I think they're hoping that they can take this rag tag book and breathe some life into the characters... might work too if the script is good, there's a lot of good movie elements here.

I'm surprised they didn't include Nova.
I have no idea what to expect from this.

Wasn't this originally going to be a cartoon made by Disney? Or was that just a rumor? Is it live action now? I remember reading that Disney was planning on making a cartoon movie based on a Marvel property and people were thinking this would be the one.

Out of my thousands of comic books, I barely recall a Guardians of the Galaxy - although i have heard of Rocket Raccoon.
EDIT - Hahaha I have like the first 12 issues from a 1990 series and 21 in all ![]()

I think this feels like a movie Disney would want to do out of Marvels stalk company. I mean its a team thing and very different from Avengers. An Alien hero team seldom do you see and its likely to combat The Justice League who have Alien heroes like SuperMan and Martian The Man Hunter.

I think a Guardians of the Galaxy movie makes a lot of sense. Marvel has the financial situation pretty much wrapped up in the comic-movie business, as of right now, except for Batman and Superman next summer. You can only go so far with some characters before they will get stale.
Captain America is a great comic book hero but he doesn't work in today's modern world. That's already happening as they are using the Winter Soldier storyline... a reach back into Cap's great war history. As a franchise Iron-Man has been incredibly lucrative and a fan favourite courtesy of RDJ. This is great but it will be the third movie and if they are going with the Extremis storyline, then I don't see how they can "improve," on the Iron-Man armor which has always been a big factor withing these movies. Hawkeye or Black Widow are not popular enough to carry a movie titled with their name, while the Hulk is kinda floating in limbo. Thor is good but also not capable, IMO, of going to much longer by himself. So, long story short, having a Guardians of the Galaxy movie is good in that it freshens the comic-book hero scene while still staying connected to the Marvel universe that the public generally knows. They don't know of the GoG characters but that's the beauty. No expectations but with ample comparisons to all the positives that have come with the Avengers with regard to a team-up movie franchise.

The latest Iron Man comic ended with him donning a new suit of armour and heading into space. I believe he's going to team up with the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Spoiler!!! Click to Read!:
That is Iron Man center bottom. I'm really not sure if I'm going to keep reading Iron Man coz since its relaunch it's been rubbish. |

I'm arguably more excited for this than any other ongoing Marvel project right now. It has the potential to be a huge hit or a colossal failure.

I like it because its something very different and hope its very good. The problem is are there enough people who know about it to make it a hit.

The Marvel name and inevitable inclusion of Avengers alumni will ensure this puts bums on seats.

I never really knew much about that Marvel Comic. I knew about Avengers, FF and X-Men more then any other Marvel Comic. Guardian Of The Galaxy didn't even have a cartoon I don't think.

Marvel hasn't been very aggressive when it comes to animation until recently. Before then, it was just Spider-Man and the X-Men. All of their other animated series were cancelled after one season. |

I've seen Blade, Punisher, Dr Strange, Thor, Deardevil and Captain America in comics. Not all of them were the stars but some were, the others were just guests on someone else's show.

Dave Batista As Drax.
![]() ![]() I know nothing about the character but if was going for a retired wrestler why not get The Rock. I mean you pass on Drogo for a non Rock Wrestler. Looking at the dude The Rock seems a better fit if Momoa said no. |
