Arrow Interstellar (Nolan / Spielberg)

http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=98707

Quote:
In development for some time, the sci-fi tale Interstellar looks to have a found a new director in Christopher Nolan. The Hollywood Reporter brings word that Nolan is interested in developing the project, taking over the reins from the previously-attached Steven Spielberg.

Production on Interstellar would be a joint effort between Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. and would see Nolan again tackling a screenplay from his brother, Jonathan Nolan (The Prestige, The Dark Knight Rises)

The plot is said to have been informed by a scientific theory by Kip S. Thorne, a Caltech physicist and expert on relativity. His theory suggests that wormholes exist and can be used for time travel

Even if Nolan makes it, a fine second choice, I'll always wonder about the Spielberg sci-fi we'll miss out on.

Like Lincoln, Interstellar is a project Spielberg had been developing for over a decade. So, I'm sure he'll stick around as a producer and some of his inputs will remain.

I like Nolan's non-Batman movies but I also like Spielberg's sci-fi movies, but which is better? Only one way to find out!

It's a shame Wally Pfister won't be cinematographer for this film.

Can't wait! I'm excited to see Nolan tackle sci-fi again.

I'd rather he work with Spielberg's DP, Janusz Kaminski.

Nolan is one busy dude...hope he doesn't spread himself too thin...when you do that then you start putting crap together.

Insiders tell me that Christopher Nolan is writing a script that merges an original idea of his with the script that Jonah wrote. It will retain the title Interstellar, and the ambition for the project is a film that will depict a heroic interstellar voyage to the farthest borders of our scientific understanding. If it all pans out, he’ll direct. Nolan’s unofficial home studio, Warner Bros, has been kissed into the deal as a co-production partner with Paramount, and Christopher Nolan and Emma Thomas are producing with Lynda Obst. Jordan Goldberg is joining as exec producer alongside Thorne, who’ll remain on as technical consultant.

Hey there, first post for me in here! well, after I read the news I can't wait to see Michael Caine in a sci-fi film!!! xD by the way, I like Christopher Nolan as filmmaker but I have to say that after the dark knight rises I'd have preferred that he was not involved in a blockbusters again but in something like "The prestige"! Never mind, let's see what he has in storage for us.

A sci-fi in Imax...not bad at all! I wonder if Warner Bros will try to convince Nolan to shoot this movie in 3D, or maybe a post-conversion. I don't think so!

Matthew McConaughey has been offered the lead role. The character's name is Cooper.
