Production on Interstellar would be a joint effort between Paramount Pictures and Warner Bros. and would see Nolan again tackling a screenplay from his brother, Jonathan Nolan (The Prestige, The Dark Knight Rises)

The plot is said to have been informed by a scientific theory by Kip S. Thorne, a Caltech physicist and expert on relativity. His theory suggests that wormholes exist and can be used for time travel

Even if Nolan makes it, a fine second choice, I'll always wonder about the Spielberg sci-fi we'll miss out on.

Like Lincoln, Interstellar is a project Spielberg had been developing for over a decade. So, I'm sure he'll stick around as a producer and some of his inputs will remain.

Hey there, first post for me in here!

well, after I read the news I can't wait to see Michael Caine in a sci-fi film!!! xD by the way, I like Christopher Nolan as filmmaker but I have to say that after the dark knight rises I'd have preferred that he was not involved in a blockbusters again but in something like "The prestige"! Never mind, let's see what he has in storage for us.

A sci-fi in Imax...not bad at all! I wonder if Warner Bros will try to convince Nolan to shoot this movie in 3D, or maybe a post-conversion. I don't think so!
