That looks like the most mixed Best Picture and Best Director categories I can recall.

No Tarantino, no Affleck, no Hooper, and no Bigelow
Spielberg was nominated this time at least lol (and we all know The Color Purple directed itself )

How long do we think it'll be until Ben Affleck gets an Oscar for directing? Cause let's face it, the guy is looking like a strong prospect for the future.

Wow! Ben Affleck and Kathryn Bigelow were snubbed big time.

EDIT: Oh, and Tom Hooper and Quentin Tarantino. I guess Steven Spielberg will be winning his third Best Director Oscar.

Double EDIT: Um, PT Anderson wasn't nominated, Ramplate. It was Ang Lee for Life of Pi.

My first thoughts are Lincoln with Spielberg, Actor going either to Lewis or Phoenix, and Actress to Chastain.

Lincoln will win Best Picture. I'm calling it now. And by the way, Ang Lee was nominated for Best Director. That list is incorrect.

The Master fans would be happy if PTA was nominated. The acting nominations seemed like a lock. Also happy for all the Life of Pi love.

Yeh, I think its going to be a tough race between Day Lewis and Phoenix.

Man, that supporting actor category is going to be a battle royale. Strong competition there.

There's a 99.9% chance Daniel Day-Lewis will win. The 00.1% is Hugh Jackman.

It's between Hoffman and Jones with De Niro as the dark horse.

It seems like in the past couple of years, both television and film's strongest categories have come in the supporting actor category.

Talk about surprises; the Directing category...WTF happened there? As disappointed as I am about Tarantino not getting in, Affleck getting snubbed is even more upsetting. Seriously.

I'm glad to see Flight get some love via screenplay, though.

And I'm also glad to see Bradley Cooper get a nomination. He deserved it.

But, it looks like this'll be Spielberg's year. Lincoln is the Academy's kind of film through and through.

Ah thanks, I blame Yahoo

I originally posted the limited categories from there - and noticed some of the mistakes, so I checked it versus the official Academy Awards site - and added the other categories - and that one escaped me
-Fixed
I agree that Lincoln will probably take home a lot of the top prizes

BTW - Emma Stone and Seth McFarlane did a pretty nice job of lightening up the announcements (although his Hitler joke didn't get too many chuckles)

i thought it was (simple, yet) clever, but yeah Hitler jokes don't go over too well usually (Unless it's Spring Time - this one was more ominous in tone than lighthearted)

Argo, Les Miserables, and Zero Dark Thirty are DOA. The race is now between Lincoln, Life of Pi, and Silver Linings Playbook. My guess is that Lincoln will win Best Picture, Director, and Actor. Life of Pi will sweep the technical awards, making it the nights big kahuna in terms of numbers. And Silver Linings will win Adapted Screenplay, consolation for David O. Russell, Actress, and Supporting Actor (Weinstein will do for De Niro what he did to Streep).
