Finished the book today, and I gotta say, I'm REALLY excited for this movie now. Everything is upped a level in it -- the personal problems of Katniss and Peeta, the tension between the Districts and the Capitol (this being the biggest thing to start building higher), and especially the intensity of the Games. If the movie lives up to it, this'll be another case of the second movie in a franchise being better than the first.

Starting Mockingjay tomorrow.

The director's race is now between Bennett Miller (Moneyball) and Francis Lawrence (I Am Legend).

The only other movies he has done are Water for Elephants and Constantine. I don't like any of his films. My vote is officially in for Bennett Miller.

Bennett Miller and Francis Lawrence? Eh.

Francis Lawrence's directorial efforts thus far haven't been that impressive, and having only seen Miller's Moneyball, and not Capote, I can say that if he DOES get the job, then he'll at least need to inject some life into it on his part. His muted style of directing doesn't really fit something like this.

Francis Lawrence got the job. I hope Lionsgate keeps him on a tight leech. He's good with effects and visuals but his storytelling skills are terrible. Someone is definitely gonna have to serve as an unofficial co-director.

I hardly even care about these books and I can't help but feel disgusted by this. The last book is, what, 400 pages? I see they're OK with what I'm sure will ruin any chances of the movie series being any good for a few bucks. Nobody gives a **** anymore.

Thats just ridiculous. I can see why Harry Potter did it, but they started a bad new trend.

I also think one a year for four straight years is a bit excessive.
