10 STAND-OUT CHRISTMAS EPISODES!

Every year, countless TV shows air a Christmas episode. Ranking the best is nearly impossible. So instead, here are 10 that have stood-out over the decades. Oh, and all of these will be sitcoms, because honestly, it's the genre that pulls off these episodes the best.

#10 - IT'S A BUNDYFUL LIFE (1989) from MARRIED WITH CHILDREN

There's nothing more cliche than a sitcom spoofing It's a Wondeful Life. Except maybe spoofing Groundhog Day. So, kudos has to be given to Married with Children for being the only show to do something unique with the concept. For starters, this is Al Bundy we're dealing with. Life without him is exactly what you'd expect it to be and it's hilarious that he chooses to live on just to torture his family. And then, of course, there's the added bonus of Sam Kinison as his guardian angel. It's perhaps the most inspired casting stunt in the history of sitcoms.

#9 - MY BEST MOMENT (2004) from SCRUBS

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

#8 - MARGE BE NOT PROUD (1995) from THE SIMPSONS

Homer is the best character on The Simpsons, but it's safe to say that Bart is the most relatable. I don't think any of us have ever stolen a video game before, although shoplifting in general might be a different matter, but theft isn't the point of the episode. It's the theme of disappointing a parent. And that's something we've all done at one point or another. So, this is one of those Simpsons episodes that stick with you.

#7 - MARY, JOSEPH, AND LARRY (2002) from CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

#6 - YULE BETTER WATCH OUT (1990) from HOME IMPROVEMENT

Watching Home Improvement's annual Christmas episode was a tradition for anyone who grew up in the `90s. Choosing one episode to represent the whole lot is a difficult task. So, I'm gonna settle with the very first one. It introduces the running gag of Tim's rivary with "Doc Johnson" in the Christmas Lights Competition. And..... I love the storyline of Brad and Randy telling Mark that Santa doesn't exist and then getting screwed when jolly ol' Saint Nick actually shows up.

#5 - THE STRIKE (1997) from SEINFELD

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

#4 - RAPTURE'S DELIGHT (2009) from AMERICAN DAD

Stan and Jesus team-up to battle the Anti-Christ in a post-Raptured Earth. If you need to prove that American Dad is nothing like Family Guy, this episode is the one to choose. Secondly..... I can't think of another show that has a biblically epic holiday special.

#3 - A CHRISTMAS PLOTZ (1993) from ANIMANIACS

For JBond:

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

And although it's not a Christmas segment, it's still valid:

A GIFT OF GOLD (1994)

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

#2 - ARNOLD'S CHRISTMAS (1996) from HEY ARNOLD!

Arnold discovers that Mr. Hyunh was separated from his daughter during the Vietnam war and sets out to find her. It's pretty heavy-duty stuff for a children's cartoon. And incredibly touching. Speaking of Vietnam.....

#1 - THE DRAFT DODGER (1976) from ALL IN THE FAMILY

It wouldn't be Christmas without a little family drama. And no sitcom captured that better than All in the Family. In one of its finest episodes, Archie goes ape s--t crazy when "The Meat Head" invites a Vietnam draft dodger for Christmas dinner. And although the debate of draft dodging may seem a bit outdated, considering drafts don't exist anymore, the episode remains relevant by including a friend of Archie's whose son was killed in the war. A discussion of war and peace is something I'm sure many families will be having this holiday season.

10 REASONS WHY HOME ALONE 2
IS BETTER THAN HOME ALONE!

Let's settle this 20 year debate:

#10 - ROB SCHNEIDER GETS PAID IN GUM!

No wonder Adam Sandler has to pay all his bills.

#9 - THE TALKBOY!!!

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

Home Alone 2 launched one of the most iconic toys of the 1990's. Now granted, I don't think anybody ever successfully pranked anyone, like in the movie, but it's still the coolest looking tape recorder ever made.

#8 - "GET DOWN ON YOUR KNEES AND TELL ME YOU LOVE ME!"

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

You know what's worse than discovering there's no Santa Claus? Finding out that "Angels With Filthy Souls" is not a real movie. lol. This scene where Kevin pranks the hotel staff using the film never gets olds. It makes me laugh every time I watch it.

#7 - BIGGER SCOPE!

Did they really make an entire movie about a kid alone in his house? Boring! The sequel rectify's this. A kid wandering the streets of New York by himself is definitely more entertaining.

#6 - DUNCAN'S TOY CHEST!!!

This place makes Toys R' Us look like the ghetto.

#5 - THE WET BANDITS ARE NOW THE STICKY BANDITS!

In the spirit of highering the stakes, Marv and Harry go from robbing homes to stealing cash from Duncan's Toy Chest on Christmas Eve. Has anyone ever robbed a toy store on Christmas Eve?! That actually sounds like a great idea. lol.

#4 - IDENTITY THEFT!

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

Instead of staying home for the holidays, Kevin McCallister goes to New York and uses his father's credit cards to stay at an expensive hotel. Our hero is a criminal. And he has to redeem himself by rescuing stolen charity money. This movie is deep, ya'll.

#3 & 2 - THE PIGEON LADY & FRIENDSHIP DOVES

Whether you prefer Home Alone or the sequel, we all have to agree on one thing. The Pigeon Lady is WAY better than the "creepy old guy". Not only is she more memorable but I love her storyline with Kevin. It gives the film a lot of heart.

#1 - KEVIN McCALLISTER'S DEATH TRAP!

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

The bread and butter of these Home Alone movies is the traps set by Kevin to capture Marv and Harry. In the first movie, he just wanted to hurt them with paint cans. In the sequel, he's trying to kill them!!!!! I mean..... I can't tell if I'm watching an incredibly violent movie or a live-action Looney Tunes. But I can tell you this: it's friggin' awesome!

MERRY CHRISTMAS, YA FILTHY ANIMALS!!!

Marv & Harry are superhuman in this movie. The average person wouldn't have survived one of those injuries. They survive them all.

10 OTHER FILMS TO LOOK FORWARD TO IN 2013!

Now that we're in 2013, people are making movie anticipation lists, but most of them include pretty much the same films. So just for the sake of something different, here are 10 alternate movies you might want to consider.

#10 - MOVIE 43 (JANUARY 25)

Movie 43 is a collection of comedic short films, directed by and starring, a lot of famous Hollywood folks. I'm sure curiosity will lead many to watch it.

#9 - A GLIMPSE INSIDE THE MIND OF CHARLIE SWAN III (FEBRUARY 8)

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

Have Charlie Sheen jokes gotten old? That's what writer/director Roman Coppola (of Wes Anderson fame) will find out next month. It looks like a quirky comedy with the bonus of Charlie Sheen being in it. Two years ago this would have been exciting. Now, it's just something to see in February.

#8 - STOKER (MARCH 1)

From the director of OLDBOY comes a psychological thriller about a girl whose father has died and now has to live with her creepy uncle. It doesn't sound very interesting but with the talent involved it's definitely one to keep an eye on.

#7 - THE HOST (MARCH 29)

Stephanie Meyer ruined vampires with her Twilight saga. Now, she's after JBond's favorite genre: science fiction. Will this be another train wreck? Probably. But it'll be fun to watch nonetheless.

#6 - EVIL DEAD REMAKE (APRIL 12)

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

Everyone was skeptical about an Evil Dead remake, but the trailer has definitely peaked the interest of many, myself included. Like the original, it's a pure horror film. The difference here is a big budget.

#5 - PAIN AND GAIN (APRIL 26)

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

After three straight Transformers movies, Michael Bay returns to his roots. Count me in.

#4 - THE INTERNSHIP (JUNE 7)

Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn team-up for another buddy comedy? If it worked for Wedding Crashers then I guess it could work here too. Apparently, the movie is about two men who get laid-off from their jobs and are forced to intern for an Internet company where their bosses are all rich twentysomethings. It sounds like a fun premise, I guess.

#3 - WHITE HOUSE DOWN (4th of July weekend)

The White House is under attack and it's up to Channing Tatum to defend it. Oh boy! This will either be brilliant or terrible. Either way, it sounds like an awesome summer blockbuster.

#2 - CAPTAIN PHILLIPS (OCTOBER 11)

Directed by Paul Greengrass and starring Tom Hanks, it's the true story of a ship taken over by Somali pirates. I imagine this will be one of the big Oscar contenders. Last year, when I did the "alternate movie list" I included Zero Dark Thirty which is now the Oscar frontrunner for Best Picture. So, who knows, maybe I've struck gold again.

#1 - MONUMENTS MEN (DECEMBER 20)

George Clooney returns to the director's chair with a World War II drama based on a best-selling book. Nevermind..... this will win the Oscar next year.

THE 10 GREATEST LETHAL WEAPON MOMENTS!

Lethal Weapon is one of the most popular action movie franchises of all-time. There are so many memorable and crowd-pleasing moments that I'm afraid this list will exclude several of them. But I hope you enjoy this list nonetheless.

#10 - FOREPLAY from LETHAL WEAPON 3 (1992)

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

When we meet Martin Riggs (Mel Gibson) in the original film, he had recently lost his wife in a car accident. He was depressed and suicidal. He overcame that thanks to his new partner but happiness wouldn't last for long. In the first sequel, he meets a cute South African girl and things seem to be progressing nicely till tragedy strike again. So, in Lethal Weapon 3, when ANOTHER love interest is introduced, people knew what to expect... or did they? Rene Russo plays Lorna Cole. She's an Internal Affairs officer investigating a breach in security when automatic weapons are stolen from a police warehouse and sold to L.A. gangs. From the moment she appears she's at odds with Riggs. They have the sort of playful bickering that's seen in many romantic comedies. But where they truly shine, and set themselves apart, is during a scene where they compare battle scars and slowly lead into sex. It's perhaps the most interesting foreplay in the history of cinema.

#9 - AN EXPLOSIVE FLUSH from LETHAL WEAPON 2 (1989)

VIDEO-CLick to Watch!:

Martin Riggs is the Lethal Weapon the title refers to. He's a loose canon that gets the job done no matter what. To balance him out, his partner Roger Murtaugh (Danny Glover), is a straight man. But for one brief moment he became the center in one of the most ridiculously over-the-time moments in the series. Like every man his age, he begins the day by sitting on the toilet and reading the newspaper. Knowing this, the villains think it's hilarious to put a bomb on it. What follows is, well, iconic.
