Well to be fair I'm only selling off one Blu-ray - The Wrestler - because despite the fact that I think it's a great film, purchasing it was a mistake. I have no interest in owning it, nor will I ever have interest in watching it again. But I'm trying to do a better job of building my savings so I can afford a house in the next year or two, and I plan to propose to my girlfriend in the next year or so (and I haven't bought the ring yet), so I'm trying to sell off some things here and there so I can put the earnings toward those pre-orders as opposed to just buying them out right.

I recounted my movies and shows. I'm currently at 1028: 772 DVDs, 235 Blu-Rays and 21 HD-DVDs (Yes, I still own some of these).

Yes, I pay some bills (phone and car) and I guess it helps that I live with my parents, but I get most of my DVDs pretty cheap. I go to the pawn shop a lot and get great deals there and Amazon too.

I finished that last night with Alien Resurrection. I forgot how horrible that movie was. I remembered it was bad, but this time I saw how bad it really was.

Still haven't seen Resurrection, I'm not exactly looking forward to it as you can imagine.

I still do occasionally, but I've cut way back. I don't think I've bought any since... maybe early June. And I think those pick-up's were X-Men and X2 for $16 total with free movie money to Prometheus.

Well, there's lots of great releases coming up. August has Jaws and Community season 3. September has Avengers, Titanic and Indy. And Hitchcock for those who plan to get that one.

Jaws is really the only one that comes to mind, aside from several Criterion releases. But who am I kidding? I'll end up skipping all of them.

Alright. I have The Matrix on bluray, but not the sequels. Mostly because only Reloaded is available separately, not Revolutions for some reason.
So now I wonder, should I just cut them out of my collection entirely, and only keep the first film? What do you think? |

Cut the "sequels" out? There's only one Matrix film.

After the holidays (both receiving gifts and spending gift cards), I'm currently at 179 on my shelf and another six in transit. I suspect 2013 will be the year I crack 200 Blu-ray's.
