Anyone hear hear JJ Abrams turned down Episode 7 because he was gonna stay loyal to Star Trek.
Which I am kinda glad because while he is ok for Star Trek. I simply remember how Lost Ended badly and I fear Star Trek will suffer when he gets bored and Star Wars needs directors on good constant want for the product.

Either way Abrams was never a good fit for Star Wars. He is to soaked in Trek world and Trek and SW should never be mixed together by the same dude.

While J.J. Abrams is not the director, my hope is that Michael Giacchino (Abrams' typical composer) will do the score due to his freaky ability to channel John Williams. Of course if Williams is up to it, he'd be my #1 choice, but he's 80 now and may not want to take on such as momentous task at his age. Sure it'd be weird to have the same guy write the music to both Wars and Trek, but I think he'd balance them well.
