Any thoughts on George Lucas' version of The Hobbit?

One of my favorite movies when I was a little guy. I watched it again a few years back and the similarities are unreal.

At least it's a simple 2-hour movie instead of an overbloated trilogy. Plus, Val Kilmer is hilarious and delivers one of his finest performances.

One thing that held up was Mad Martigan's fight with the skull-faced general. Still way cool.

I think a lot of it holds up. The story is a bit weak and there are some pacing issues, but there's enough charm and humor to make up for it. You can tell Ron Howard was partially inspired by The Princess Bride.

I barely even remember it. In all likelihood, it was one of those 80's fantasy films that scared the **** out of me when I was little, like Labyrinth and The Black Cauldron.

There's nothing scary about this movie. Except maybe the trolls and dragon in the 2nd act.

I could see some kids being scared of those, as well as the witch/empress.

I really enjoyed the movie growing up. The last time I saw it was about 8-10 years ago, but I find it pretty easy to remember. I'd probably still like it if I watched today.

I as a kid of 8 was scared of those Dogs Pig things. Probably that scene where they kill the women is what did it for me. To be honest I like the Skull faced General because he reminded me of Skeletor a bit.

I know it was a bomb but this surely could have been remade and done in the right way it could be good as Rings.

The Guy From The Game Of Thrones would make a great Willow.

My serious point is that a remake of Willow would not be hard and since Disney Owns it since owns Lucasfilm. A Willow remake would not be hard for Disney because they have been wanting a fantasy trilogy for years.

I remember that I watch the baby Elora and General Kael that he abducted her during fighting. He kidnap the baby. He took her to another Castle. I would like to play Willow movie. I want to hold the baby. Can I join Willow movie??

I wasn't allowed to see Top Gun until I was older (my parents were a bit strict when it came to certain movies). But even so, I've never really been predisposed to those types of movies. My geekiness started early.
