I can take the place of Ian's partner if that's ok.
As a peace offering here is my long(long!) overdue review of Exit Through The Giftshop. I've had the bluray sitting there forever but have only just got around too it. Exit Through the Giftshop As seems to always be the case I wasn't too interested/excited about watching this documentary but as the story built it dragged me and completely immersed me too the point where as soon as it finished I watched the extra documentaries on the disc! I'd heard of Bansky and saw bits of his art around the city and one of the lads who I went too uni with was obsessed with him and always put his pictures up on Facebook. I just never knew anything about him or MBW which helped going into this with a blank slate. The documentary is a little slow too start off showing Thierry basically filming everything! It does pick up once Banksy shows up. His interviews with the camera were quite funny and it was crazy too see Thierry start making "art" himself and actually making a success of it! It was this part that I enjoyed the most. Once he had transformed himself into MBW and was suddenly this hip, great artist tha everyone loved. All this from a couple of one liners from the people he used too basically stalk just too help him out. I think this was the message the makers of the film were trying too get across. That fame can be so easily manufactured as people are gullible enough too take someone's words who they like I.e Banksy and take is gospel. Sowing many of these art lovers too be nothing but mindless idiots who follow the next craze. 8/10 Cracking watch whether you are into art or not. |

Exit Through The Gift Shop was definitely one of the better watches I've seen for this club.

I think I'll need a new list actually. Lovefilm only have one week down as unavailable and blockbuster/cex don't even have it listed.

Wow. Interesting. Not sure I like it, but the sequel did work the last time.
Oh, also, I'm going to try to get my hands on Pitch Black. |

Yeah I remember thinking before seeing the second one....this won't work at all. It's my favorite of the two. So now I've decided to trust Linklater with a third and final one.

Be warned, major spoilers ahead. Please don't read this if you have Any plan too watch this film in the future.
The Cabin in the Woods Ok where too begin!? When Cabin came out I was quite interested in seeing it mainly due to the attachment of Whedon too the project. However I couldn't get anyone interested in seeing it and it kind of passed me by. Fast forward too about 2 weeks ago and I had the pleasure of someone ranting about how it was the worst film ever and talking about these gods that lived under the earth and so on. Now this displeased me as I love going into films knowing next too nothing about them and having no preconceptions whatsoever. The film itself. Anyone reading this should have seen the film so i'll skip the plot rehash. I did like how it tried to play the characters out at the beginning, i.e showing how smart Hemsworths character was but I felt it could have done with a bit more of this as that and that the other guy was a American football player was the only real glimpse it gave you as to who these characters really were. A major issue I had with Cabin was that even though it doesn't want too be placed into a genre hole it's components don't stand up too well. By that I mean there are funny moments, the cursing of the Japanese school girls and the speaker phone scene, none are "that" funny. It's not scary in the slightest either. This film is definitely a case of the whole is better than the sum of its parts but I felt that these parts could and should have been better. The final 3rd is the best part of the film but is quite rushed and the sheer amount of creatures and what's going on sort of detracts as you can only appreciate something for a split second before the film rushes on. Although when the Merman kills the overseer type person near the end I really dd have too roll my eyes. Also where did Sigourney Weavers character appear from!? I appreciate what Cabin was going for and I did have fun watching it but I just felt that it could have been so much more. 7/10 P.S I dont know why but the bluray I received had no special features whatsoever was highly disappointed with this.
