the third one always sucks. i won't let a trailer trick me again. the third movie always sucks. dark knight rises proved that. and they had a pretty great trailer too.

With Iron Man it's different. It's part of a bigger story. This may be Iron Man 3 but it's the 7th film in the Marvel Universe.

I've found the third movie after a sucky second one is often pretty good. Die Hard 3, Indiana Jones 3, Bourne 3.

The thing with these Marvel movies I find is that even when they're bad, I still enjoy the hell out of them.

I am beyond excited for Iron Man 3, the trailer looked awesome.

Someone posted this on one the Youtube links, so not sure how validated it is, somewhat spoilerish

Actually this plot doesn't revolve around Hammer. It will involved Aldrich Killian, the man who developed the Extremis virus and sold it to terrorists. The Extremis virus is basically an altered version of the super soldier serum (see C.A.) that alters your DNA via nanobots. Tony Stark modifies it to let him communicate/interact with his suit through his mind. It is long considered one of the best Ironman comic arcs and should make for a fantastic movie

Yes, that is the story line that Warren Ellis wrote a couple years back. It was pretty damn good. It redefined the Iron Man mythology. Pretty cool to see them go that route.

The fact that the armor which appears to be going rogue and attacking Pepper in the trailer is also the one that doesn't look all that great kinda makes sense. You don't want the audience to associate the hero's armor with doing bad things. The resolution to this problem is to use a form which looks very different from what the audience is familiar with. The armor that Tony uses in the big finale will likely be new and improved, but more in keeping with how we expect Iron Man to look.

Wow, Feige gave a way a lot in this article. Love the continuity from the Avengers. Tony is staying hidden more and more, building and modifying suits? When I heard this I really hope there is a hint to the Hulk-Busting armor. I can picture a scene in Avengers 2 where the team is assembled and Banner is walking around and gets a peek of a massive suit of Iron-Man armor. Tony comes up behind him and shuts the door, looking down. Banner gets a little agitated asking why the big armor. Tony says, "The team has to be ready for anything. Even threats from within."

Sorry had to play that little scenario out in writing. lol

People hated "Iron Man 2" because there was too much set-up to "The Avengers." Now watch them hate "Iron Man 3" because, once again, it focuses too much on "The Avengers." I've already come to accept that all these movies are one series, but I don't think people have as well.
