Default Oblivion

Release Date: April 26, 2013
Studio: Universal Pictures
Director: Joseph Kosinski
Screenwriter: William Monahan, Karl Gajdusek, Michael Arndt
Starring: Tom Cruise, Olga Kurylenko, Morgan Freeman, Andrea Riseborough, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Melissa Leo
Genre: Action, Comedy

Quote:
Tom Cruise stars in "Oblivion," an original and groundbreaking cinematic event from the director of "TRON: Legacy" and the producer of "Rise of the Planet of the Apes." On a spectacular future Earth that has evolved beyond recognition, one man’s confrontation with the past will lead him on a journey of redemption and discovery as he battles to save mankind.

Jack Harper (Cruise) is one of the last few drone repairmen stationed on Earth. Part of a massive operation to extract vital resources after decades of war with a terrifying threat known as the Scavs, Jack’s mission is nearly complete. Living and patrolling the breathtaking skies from thousands of feet above, his soaring existence is brought crashing down when he rescues a beautiful stranger from a downed spacecraft. Her arrival triggers a chain of events that forces him to question everything he knows and puts the fate of humanity in his hands.

"Oblivion" will be shot in stunning digital 4K resolution on location across the United States and Iceland.
Sounds interesting.

Quote:
Now in production, Joseph Kosinski's Oblivion marks the director's followup project from 2010's TRON: Legacy and, today, The Playlist has revealed that French electropop group M83 will follow in the footsteps of that film's popular Daft Punk soundtrack, scoring Oblivion in its entirety.

You'll have to watch the movie to see.

Bloody clever marketing, that.

With M83 scoring the film that's enough to get me in the theater, especially to hear it in IMAX.

Interesting, because after I saw it I was left with still not knowing what it's really about.

It didn't help that the video wasn't working very well.

Looks great! I'm pretty excited. Kind of looks like it's coming from the left field and hopefully will be a good surprise.

Pretty straight forward to me. I'm interested. I don't think it was spoilerish...

I don't know why it's being labeled as an action/comedy, however.
