It IS the frontrunner. The Hobbit could steal its thunder once Academy members watch it... or MAYBE even Django Unchained. But... this looks like the safest choice right now. The Bin Laden movie could have taken the price, but I heard some people got upset because it didn't acknowledge the Obama administration.

If tradition is any indication here (and it usually is), then this will most likely win if, as you said, nothing else swoops in and steals the spotlight. The Academy sure loves their musicals, and this is one that has big production values to boot, which is surprising coming from Tom Hooper.

I just hope it lives up to the hype.

They had two screenings for members this month, one in New York and the other in Los Angeles. In both, the members loved it. It stole the thunder from Argo, which was the frontrunner for like two months. Right now, it seems to be the favorite.

i keep seeing the one how they keep showing that it was filmed with live singing, not recorded. after seeing this feature before every movie i've seen, really dont want to see the movie anymore.

LINCOLN: About a man dealing with a country divided, class warfare, & a big election( hmmm, were have we heard this story before).

Beside, a French movie won last year.

Les will get plenty of nod but, Picture has Lincoln all over it. A great picture about a great American President.

I think it's gonna either be Lincoln or Zero Dark Thirty, with Les Mis as a possible "upset."

Anyway, this is now my 2nd most anticipated release for the remainder of the year, behind Django Unchained.
