Vampire Diaries.

I like this show and I know there have to be others on here who like it as well. Sure it's kind of playing on the whole Vamp craze Twilight brought about, but I think being based on an earlier book series helps it.

So does anyone else here watch?

I've seen the first 2 episodes. It looked alright. Let me know if it got better or not cause I wasn't really impressed.

it's definitely better than I anticipated it to be. That is due in large part to Ian Somerhaulder. His character is great and the show has actually done some things that I didn't see coming at all. So it is worth a watch for sure.

I believe he was making a lost reference.

I have to say Elana had what seemed to be a more realistic reaction to Stefan being a vampire then some other character in some other book series/movie...not gonna name any names though.

Yeah I was rather pleased with her reaction. I think I even said out load "I swear to God if she still is all madly in love with him after all that..." and then she had a somewhat intelligent reaction. Intelligent female characters+CW= almost unheard of.

I actually failed too, I was about to comment on it with "That can't be true...a fall wouldn't kill a vampire." Then I read it again and finally got it...good one Ian.

Right now the show is #4 for me and my favorite character is also Damon, but I normally like the bad characters over the good.

I've been watching it and so far I'm still up in the air whether or not I think it's good. I really thought Ian wouldn't be that convincing, but he's pleasantly sadistic. Paul Wasa-something (his last name isn't Wesley) is a bit like a plank of wood. Elena is OK.
So far my favorite is Elena's witch friend.

I really wish they would just get rid of the coke-whore. She's annoying and really quite ugly.

I'm wondering if the vampires on this show can eat regular food, last Stefan mentioned that they drink coffee so that their body's become warm to the touch. Also theres the fact that Vicki said she had to go use the bathroom even though she was "dead" and Stefan didn't seem too surprised by this.

Last night's episode was great and the death was done well.

I know this show is often mocked but it's honestly one of my favorite thing things on television right now. Out of all the shows I watch this season finale was the best one. Phenomenal stuff.

I agree. It gets so much crap for being a CW show about vampires, but it really is good. They actually know how to plan out a story way in advance and keep the audience on their toes.

So...

Since that post, I've seen every episode to date and absolutely loved them. Season three was amazing, Klaus has been my favorite character, next to Caroline (I love her and hope she never dies), Damon became my favorite vampire by season 2, and overall, the story has been amazing. I honestly can't wait to see how season 4 comes together. That finale was amazing, especially Damon's 'reaction' when he realized what was happening to Elena. Katherine should definitely make an appearance now, it'd be impossible to tell them apart, lol.

I think you must watch other episodes of this show. Those episodes are better then first two episodes. I hope you will watch it and also will like it.

Good for you...

Thursday's Episode: Man, just when you think Klaus has become too bland and not bad enough, he goes and proves us wrong, lol. That was a nice twist to the episode indeed. And April not being compelled and finding all of the bodies and Rebecca at the end, that should make for some interesting episodes ahead. All in all, this season is going decent so far. Not as awesome as last season, but much better than any other network TV I've been watching (cable TV not included).

I must admit, and I am a bit ashamed of myself, but I watched all of this show on Netflix, and have caught up on the current season. Something about this show intrigues me.

I did like the ending of the last episode. It was a really good twist.
