I expect that the excursion through time will not only cancel out X3, but the entire original X-Men movie trilogy. There will likely be a conversation somewhere in there similar to the one in JJ Abram's Star Trek, laying out to the audience that time has been forever rewritten.

It was, but at the time, I wasn't a fan of the first X-Men. So, I didn't really get hyped for X2. I didn't even watch it on opening weekend. I saw it the 2nd weekend after hearing and reading all the great stuff about it. If this movie turns out as promising as it sounds, it will definitely be the most hyped I've ever been for an X-Men movie.

Ian McKellen was on "Live W/ Kelly" this morning promoting The Hobbit. Apparently he only found out he was confirmed for the new X-Men movie after he read Bryan Singer's twitter saying that he was confirmed along side Patrick Stewart, lol. Before that he said that he had only expressed "interest" in being apart of X-Men again. Gotta love those directors, guilting you into signing on...

If the story really does involve time travel, the entire original X-Men Trilogy will be out the window, along with the first Wolverine movie. All for the best, really. The first couple of X-Men movies were good for their time, but they just don't hold up when compared to what's been coming out from Marvel Studios. The Avengers showed us all the way an ensemble cast is done, and the adventures of Wolverine and a few of his friends is not it.

In an interview with Empire, Bryan Singer said he spent two hours consulting with James Cameron on time travel. He compared this movie to Terminator and Back to the Future. Not story wise or thematically but in the way it explores time travel.

I don't see Halle Berry anywhere so not a complete until Storm if in the future. The one problem with this movie is that Id rather had a fallow up sequel that took place where we left off with First Class and maybe this as a 3rd movie.
