My brother told me a story about some chick who waited in line for a really long time to get a phone, and when she found out it was $50 and not free she threw a fit and left.

The one Grandma in line was waiting for a printer and at 10 PM they would be released...so this crazy lady starts cutting into the plastic wrap trying to take one out...when she got caught her reason was, "I didn't know anything about that. I just thought we could grab one." *sigh*

On a good note, I saw about 100 immensely cute girls with yoga pants on. Safe to say I was happy.

I did Black Friday once just for the sake of experiencing it. I had no intention of buying anything. I just wanted to observe the madness first hand. And somehow, I ended up getting a $100 Playstation and walking over to the cashier without getting harrassed or killed. I guess that's the trick to Black Friday. Browse and slide through the crowd.

Many cable and satellite providers have had some very tough negotiations with AMC over the past couple of years when their contracts expire. AMC has significantly raised their rates due to the popularity of their original programming, as well as the expense of creating those shows. Many providers opted to do without AMC in their selection when they balked at the new price tag. This situation didn't last very long however, as their subscribers called in/e-mailed/etc in massive numbers demanding their weekly dose of Walking Dead, Mad Men, etc.

If you're seeing ads like that, it means the AMC contract with your provider is about to expire.

Florida Powerball? No idea where I'd get one here - never tried at a lottery terminal I figured they were all the Vermont games. I think I even have to physically drive to NY to get a NY lottery ticket too
