With Iron Man 3 set for an early May release, does anyone see Thor 2 being brought forward to July?

Thor 2 was moved to November. Fanible should re-edit the thread title.

Guess my Hall H privileges are suspended...
I was never into Thor when I read comics so I have no idea if this is a good sign or not.

Look how Mike Fleming tries to connect with a comic con audience. Who read Thor comics? Nobody!

Thor has been around since the 60s. Someone must have read it.

I have a friend who read it religiously, while I only bought it when something interesting happened - I liked Beta Ray Bill

I've read Thor on and off since I started reading comics. He's had some good runs (the current volume is actually quite good).
Malekith hasn't been around for a long time.... haven't actually read any of his stories but know some of the history, he's definately a major Thor villain but I doubt he'll be the only one. I'm guessing Malekith takes on the Loki role for the film and we'll also see someone like Kurse show up.

what was good about it?
maybe the most forgettable of all the marvel movies. actually... easily the most forgettable (okay captain america is up there too). not terrible, but absolutely nothing special. just there.

Although I prefer it to Captain America, both are still completely and entirely forgettable.

I liked it a great deal, overall. The majesty of Asgard and the creepy frozen wasteland of Jodenheim were compelling, and I wish more of the story had taken place there. The fish out of water tale of Thor being banished to Earth had the right balance of humor and adventure. Hemsworth was great in the role of Thor. Portman's Jane Foster wasn't very strong, but the script didn't give her much to work with. Besides, I can look at Natalie all day. She just has a way about her.
I'll admit that Loki was kinda weak as the villain of Thor. Instead of being a power mad, would be king who'd looked into the abyss as we saw in The Avengers, Loki was only a mischievous son looking to find his father's favor and remove the favorite son, Thor from the picture. He never came off as a real threat, but instead merely misguided. |

Thor & Captain America are good movies. They're not the genre's best... but they're not the worst either. If you're a Marvel fan, there's lots to enjoy. If you're not, then why even be in this thread.

Thor is a lot of fun and my favourite Pre-Avengers Avengers film.

I'm really excited for this, although I'll admit I'm a little surprised so little has been revealed about this. I kinda wonder if maybe they weren't quite sure what to do with the character for his second solo venture.
