6. Warp Speed

This has long been a technological wonder in how really impossible this may be to do. The idea of warp speed is going faster than light, which in the reality of things, is life and world changing. What we are talking about here is really the expanse of the human race, and the ability to touch the far depths of the Universe, seek and explore. It is quite fascinating.

5. Flying Cars

It is no secret the on land cars we have now, can barely be driven by a society filled with egotistical maniacs bent on getting wherever as fast as possible, despite you being in the way. So maybe having flying cars is not the best idea...HOWEVER, they're bad ass. They would increase speed of travel, explore new options of technology and really, the idea is quite cool.

4. Colonization

We have done it before, why not do it again? It has been said by many philosophers that we are natural born explorers and our life destination is to explore the galaxy. In this, we would colonize, expand our life, that way life could be more sustainable, not to mention with the growing population, it is a must to spread throughout the galaxy. I imagine we would start somewhere like Mars or the Moon and journey from there.

3. Education

It is no question that our education system is failing and does a poor job of making the important things, well, important. Because of this I have chosen education as a top point. Education allows everything on this list to be possible. It allows the youth to have the potential to do great things to insure human survival as well as improve our way of life. I'm not really sure how you go about doing this, I have some ideas but that would take too long.

There's no denying that the education system is far from perfect, but I feel like a lot of this "failing schools" talk gets out of hand sometimes. I went to an urban public school and I feel like the system worked pretty well for me. Statistically that seems to be the case with a lot of people, you ask people what they think of the specific school their kids go to and the have nothing but nice things to say, but then if you ask them about the school system in general and they think it's going to hell in a handbasket.

There probably are "failing schools" out there, but frankly I feel like the ways in which kids are raised at home are going to have more to do with any kid's accomplishment than what kind of school they go to. It's not easy for politicians to say that to parents, it's a lot easier to just blame the system.

Probably not to the extent everyone is blowing it up, but seeing a new radical change in education would be awesome.

I screwed up on my 3 and 2...so whatever.

2. Holograms

Think about saving your family forever. Being able to hold conversations with my parents, and this happening years after they unfortunately pass away. That would be incredible. Now imagine reliving an Elvis concert, or as recent as the Tupac one done with hologram. Communication would become more advance. Skype done with Hologram? Man, that'd be awesome. Enjoying family members as if they are RIGHT there. Could you imagine the next big blockbuster? Seeing it as if you were right there, part of the action? Yes PLEASE!

1. World Peace

Star Trek heavily embraced this rather cliched idea of a future without poverty, famine, war or money. Everyone would live happily, doing their jobs in a very socialist state. The only problem would be interaction from the outside, something we could ultimately not stop. Is World Peace likely to happen? No, because of the difference in race/religion/pay/etc the world will forever be distant and that's a shame. However, you can never go wrong with wishful thinking.

I don't know, I found the idea of holograms of the dead kind of morbid.

New list....

My Top 10 Comic Book Characters

10. The Punisher (Frank Castle)

Frank Castle is a man pushed too far by the wrong people. He's incredibly smart, well trained and incredibly dangerous. Behind his guns, the trench coat and the intimidating skull is a broken man piling up the body count to make sure evil scum do not fill the streets. He is a great character in the aspect of his beliefs. Absolute justice (a few of my favorites believe in this) that if you defy the lie, you must pay for it, and most of the times...the ultimate price. The Punisher has never been done correctly HOWEVER the Thomas Jane version is my favorite. I actually think he did a pretty decent job.

9. Lex Luthor

Lex Luthor is incredibly interesting in so many ways. Mainly because deep down he believes he is the good guy in this story and not the bad guy. He believes Kal-El/Superman is an evil outsider bent on taking over the world and he wants to stop him by any means necessary. This blind justice as well as severe Daddy issues has caused this man to break. A brilliant man with intelligence absolutely out of this world capable of anything with one focus: stopping Superman.

8. Bane

Bane is more than meets the eyes. Despite having incredible physical gifts the man is a military genius with great intelligence. He completely emotionally crippled Batman before he even touched him, wearing him down near physical exhaustion and crippling illness. The idea of unleashing all of Gotham's villains on Bruce to weaken him and finally beat him down in his own home with little to no mercy, leaving him to suffer is brilliant. Bane is made only better by his interaction with Batman/Bruce Wayne and the character struggles that both the comics/movies present. Bruce is so focused on coming back and defeating Bane that it really shows great character.

7. Rick Grimes

Rick's most appealing attributes really comes from the ability to relate to him. He is a normal man, rugged, not incredibly intelligent, nor incredibly gifted but bent on surviving, keeping his family safe and making it in a world with conditions beyond any nightmare. The character is tragically thrown into situations that make a man driven insane by loss, grief, sorrow and pressure to make it out alive. You constantly feel for Rick and feel his happiness when he makes it and sorrow when he gets crushed under overwhelming odds. I love this character.

I can't imagine who your number one will be.

Good start though, love Punisher--he's one of my favorites, as well.

Going forward...

6. Rorschach (Walter Kovacs)

Another character who believes in absolute justice. While I may not believe in that, I do believe there is something absolutely fascinating to learn about someone who DOES believe in it. Rorschach is a good guy, with motives that are of good intention, ruined by the fact that he has no rules. He will kill, he will torture and he will do what he must to make sure those who are ACTUALLY good, be spared. It is so interesting and the fact that he hides behind a mask, a mask that molds his emotion, while completely hiding the fact that he is a tortured soul. Perhaps my favorite scene was the one where he witnessed the brutal murder and how it completely changed him.

5. Spider-Man (Peter Parker)

Remove your personal opinions about Spider-Man 3 and perhaps The Amazing Spider-Man. Peter Parker CAN be a great character, full of wealthy back story, intelligence, charm and likeability. Something RARELY tapped into. Peter Parker is a nerd, constantly overlooked and never really seen, yet is the most seen person in New York City. Peter Parker is bumbling, lacks confidence and is nothing. Spider-Man is witty, full of himself and quite frankly, borderline unstoppable. The contrast is awesome.

4. Daredevil (Matthew Murdock)

Matthew Murdock, the man without fear. How is that possible? Being blind, you're constantly walking into the unknown but is he really blind? Being cursed (gifted) with blindness, his other senses created a sonar (similar to submarines) to locate things using his other senses. This idea is simply brilliant, made better with a troubled character faced with incredible loss and the inability to stop bad things from happening. Daredevil is an acrobat, in many adaptations, he is self trained but has an incredible willpower.

3. Superman (Clark Kent/Kal-El)

Superman is technically 'space Jesus'. I guess that's the way I see him. He's basically a heroic, Greek God built Jesus. His intentions are pure, borderline boy scoutish, he's gifted with incredible abilities that make him nearly unstoppable and blessed with a heart full of love. Superman and Superman II grasped this character well, and after that it has never really been done well. He's a man far from home, trying so hard to be accepted in his normal form, while be everything for everyone as Superman. He doesn't really have the layers, the tension or the humanity that other characters have, and that has ALWAYS been a problem of Superman, but he's an absolute icon.

2. The Joker

When creating this list, I was going through my head all my favorite characters and when I thought about 1, it was a no brainer...but at the same time, so was 2. The main reason you love Batman is because of The Joker. They have so many similarities that it makes it hard not to love BOTH of them. The Joker's life was ruined with one bad night, causing him to lose his mind, go absolutely insane and turn to a life of crime, constantly fitting a cruel punch line into everything. He wants to destroy the world, destroy everything and watch everything burn so everyone knows how he really feels deep down. Behind his crazy clown paint, his smile and his ridiculous jokes is a man completely torn down, ripped away of his humanity, and his only goal in life is to make EVERYONE feel the way he does. He does a damn good job of it.

1. Batman (Bruce Wayne)

No surprise here. Batman/Bruce Wayne is by far my favorite character, in anything ever created. I remember a while back I had a conversation with a rather attractive girl who laughed at me for stating that I loved Batman. Her reason? "He's gay." Batman means so much more than that, at least to me. I grew up with Batman, it was thrown down my throat by my Dad, a man always out to sea (Navy), we had one thing in common, comics...his favorite character? The Joker. It only came naturally that mine was Batman. I had Batman onesies, I was Batman for halloween half a dozen times and Batman got me through the hardest times of my life. So much of his life, matches mine and I have so many ways of relating to him and that's what makes him GREAT. You can relate to him, he's human, he bleeds. He's a man, destined to make sure NOBODY feels the way he did that night when his parents were murdered. Really, he's insane, a broken man forced to see a traumatic experience that sent him on a wild goose chase to defend everyone from everything. He's broken, and behind the big muscles, the incredible intelligence and money, he's a boy, drowning in the tears, failure and inability to save his parents. A man paranoid, battered and strung out, in a constant emotional flux. The Joker and Batman are really a coin flip away from being each other, and that's the fascinating part. They really are the black/white version of each other. I will never be a fan of someone else taking the batsuit from Bruce Wayne, being that the reason why Bruce is Batman is because it is HIS battle for justice. Something he must do alone, and when Jason Todd died, it made it THAT more tragic.

Next list...

My 10 Favorites Moments from Indiana Jones

10. Hitler's Autograph

I would go as far as saying this bold move to have Indiana Jones meet Adolf Hitler was genius. Absolutely genius. Indiana Jones is a fictional character, constantly bending the fibers of realism/fiction and entering a great evil like Hitler into the mix brings everything down to Earth. The scene was relatively humorous despite Hitler being well, a sadistic madman. So much tension was put into the scene and yet it was all relieved with watching Hitler just jot down his autograph and go on his way. Awesome.

9. "I hate Snakes!"

Indiana Jones is an explorer, who spends a great deal of his time in caves and what not. You'd think in his exploration he'd get over his fear of snakes, but quite the opposite. This man has been in the face of guns, Nazis, explosions, whatever but yet is still the most afraid of snakes. I too fear snakes, so watching this strong character cripple in fear was pretty sweet.

8. "No Ticket!"

The Last Crusader had so many great moments, "No Ticket!" is right up there joining tension with great physical humor. The greatness is really brought out with Ford's reaction, sharply saying, "No Ticket!" and then the reaction from those around him was simply great. Wonderful scene.

7. "Rope Bridge"

I love this scene so much. My favorite scene from Temple of Doom really explores how bad ass Indiana Jones is. The man, completely trapped on a rope bridge, with only a sword to protect him does the one thing we all wish we had the balls to do: cut the bridge and bring everyone down with him. An absolutely gutsy move, showing how daring this man is. Talk about some balls.
