I'm not saying I won't see it, I will. I'm saying if I can help it...I'm not going to watch 9 minutes of it when I'm trying to see the Hobbit...or whatever the deal is, I don't know.

Since you dislike JJ's version so much, it might be good to watch it just to see if it's more of the same or improvements were made.

I know some people felt strongly against JJ Abrams ST, but I was one who really enjoyed it. I loved the cast - very well done. This is the movie I'm looking forward to the most next year.

I feel the same way about JJ's first film. Now, mind you, I'm no Star Trek fan or expert (this was actually my introduction to the whole thing, ironically), but for what it was -- I thought it was very entertaining and well-done. I'm happily looking forward to this sequel.

It was a good introduction to the characters for new fans. But the next one needs to be more Star Trek...

Who loved the movie( I too am in that group) minus Solar F, an all. The movie was great. Campy in some spots( as in keeping with the TV series) I think that it took many people ( Critics Included) by surpise on how good the movie was. Those who did not like it, their main complaint was that the movie was Scientific enough for them. The movie was more based in the iner relationships of the group & their Drama. It was still a GREAT MOVIE. I can't wait for the next movie. I will be seeing THE HOBBIT on 12/14 & sure hope that I get to see the 9 Min of Star Trek II. I will probably see it in Imax ( Not sure I have an issue with 3D & my regluar glasses) Will they be showing ST II in all the Hobbit versions?

Several days ago, TrekToday reported that both a trailer and the first nine minutes of Star Trek into Darkness would be shown ahead of The Hobbit on December 14th, but now comes word that the trailer may appear earlier in front of some other movie.

Originally, the nine-minute opening of Star Trek into Darkness was going to be seen ahead of the IMAX version of The Hobbit, while a regular trailer would be shown to those seeing The Hobbit in regular theaters.

The Lebanese Cinema Movie Guide is reporting that the Trek trailer will *not* be in front of The Hobbit (regular version), but that trailers for The Wolverine and Man of Steel would instead be shown ahead of that movie.

The site also claims that the trailer for Star Trek into Darkness will appear at an earlier date online.

TrekToday will update readers when the situation becomes clearer. Until then, treat this as a rumor.

lol. OF COURSE there's gonna be a trailer in December. Between now and Super Bowl Sunday is when almost every summer blockbuster starts to unleash its marketing campaign.

I don't know how reliable that source is. James Mangold already said we wouldn't be seeing footage from The Wolverine until early 2013.

I was going to comment on the synopsis, but honestly...I can't make heads or tails of it. It sounds like they took four-word snippets from every action movie from the 90s and mixed them together.

At first I didn't like it, then I was confused by it, but now I see it as a piece of art. Seriously, look at this one line here. Read it outloud.

"With a personal score to settle, Captain Kirk leads a manhunt to a war-zone world to capture a one man weapon of mass destruction."
