No James Bond film is called James Bond. And The Dark Knight isn't "Batman: The Dark Knight". So, I don't think there's a need to put STAR TREK into the title. Not crazy about the title at all. Seems too...gimmicky. "Trek Into Darkness", I agree, would be a little better.

Yes, that none of the James Bond films are called James Bond: whatever. The key word there being "none". That's their style. People expect and accept it.

And The Dark Knight is a common moniker for Batman. That's why they used it.

Trek into Darkness sounds like a cheap slasher flick.

There is 007 symbol after every James Bond Movie title. In every commercial/poster

Batman movies had the Bat symbol with Dark Knight...

Maybe add a starfleet symbol to ST posters with the title only... That would make more sense.

Everyone's complaining about the title, but if the movie is good, who cares. Abrams is directing this, not Lucas, so I'm hopeful of the final product vs. say AOTC or something craptastic like that.

I'm trying to hold out hope, reminding myself that the second movie of both the other series were fantastic. So... who knows? Maybe this will follow that trend.

But then the logical side of me keeps being reminded that Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman are the writers.
