I think that sounds like a fantastic idea. I'm not on Reddit, but I think a secret Santa would be fun. Maybe people could link to an amazon wishlist and we figure a way to do a random drawing for who we buy for.

Also, I OFFICIALLY adopted Pirate Jim. He is now a part of the family. I'm trying to re-home Michael McDonald because he's such high maintenance. Who would have thought a one eyed cat would be easier to take care of a cat who is insane.

I swear to God, I feel like certain people are pushing me to have a ****ing stroke or fatal aneurysm. This is why I never smile anymore in public, or why I can't seem to be happy. They always do this to me around the ****ing holidays so I'm just miserable. I don't ****ing get it, I just don't. I can't keep taking this ****, sooner or later I'm just going to break down. Too much ****ing stress gave me bell's palsy this summer... next up, stroke!

Does Amazon have a site for Asia? I know there is a UK version.

So..... what I'm thinking is we start a new thread to all submit our wishlists to (I suppose it doesn't have to be amazon, it could be any other site that has a wishlist feature). After everyone is done submitting, they are assigned a number in the secret Santa thread and I can use a random number generator to decide who picks for who and send that number to each individual person via PM. Unless anyone else has a great idea this is the best I can think of.

He bites, and I'm not talking play bites. I have scars all over my arms. And it's not like he gets tired of being pet and turns around to bite. I'll be sitting in a chair minding my own business and he attacks. We play with him plenty, so it's not like he is ignored and just trying to nip to get our attention. We have him on Valium right now, but that only disorients him so that he can't attack. I think he needs antipsychotics. This is one of the most recent bites... The picture doesn't do it justice. It didn't stop bleeding in the deepest puncture would for a few hours. I'd also like to point out that this is ALL teeth, no claws.

I knew someone who had a cat would would be nice as pie - until it was time to stop petting her - then she'd swat you out of nowhere

Sounds like somewhere along the line he got the wrong message, or something undiscovered is bugging him tremendously - that's worse than I've seen on the 'My Cat From Hell' TV show.

Hope that's a vet approved dosage of meds and not just your own 'cure'. (not that I think you'd do that)
It does sound like he needs a special home or some sort of change in his life. Best of luck with that.

Yes, it's definately vet approved medication. He's been to the vet at least twice a year for as long as I've had him. Though more and more it sounds like the valium would be a better fit for Boyfriend and I. We spend so much time being worried that he's going to attack that it's just easier to hide in the master bedroom and give him the house to roam around in.

ya can't post a list, that is too easy, the secret santa has to stalk his prey, find out what they like over time, thats why reddit starts theirs so early, so people can creep on them and see what their interests are.

someone should be a commissioner to keep everyone honest. then we can publicly shame someone for sending a bad gift/mail losing the gift/not sending anything at all.

Yeah that doesn't sound like a healthy situation for you or pet.
Sounds like he needs a shrink (yes they have them for cats - i.e. on the cat from hell show, kind of like the Dog Whisperer.) or a special home.
Is he a shelter cat? or did you find him through other means? Sounds like a feral cat situation - there are help groups and societies that can help with a cat like that or that can place him in an appropriate home. I would suggest a look in your area for such a thing (or even a search online about Feral Cats can probably tell you better of what help is out there). Otherwise he sounds like he'd be hard to place on your own.

Hope you don't mind all these questions - definitely not a normal cat situation.

Not the gift giving part at least - like I say to everyone, "Visiting, having fun, and playing games all year long is gift enough for me."

No, we don't! We are rather backwards here when it comes to online shopping.

That's a great idea, by the way! Although, do you think it will be more meaningful to set a price limit, and then buy someone ANYTHING within that price limit? Unless that's not how Secret Santa works.

Reddit had it set up where you could list your likes/dislikes and your Secret Santa would choose from that. A price limit would be a good idea, too. It would also be fair to pair up those willing to ship overseas, since it can be expensive.
