Total Budget for Tron: Legacy= 170 million dollars
Box Office total only, not DVD/BD/3dBD sales= $400,062,763 I'd personally say that a 230 million dollar profit before you ever sell a toy or a home video is the very definition of not a failure. Plus they are just waiting for Joseph Kosinski to finish Oblivion before they start filming. http://tv.yahoo.com/news/kecks-exclu...111000463.html

Despite appearances, Disney doesn't have an infinite amount of money to spend making movies. If they have to choose between spending $170 million on another Tron movie, or spending it on another Star Wars or Marvel movie, the smart choice is to go with the one that will ultimately bring in the most money across the board. |

Apparently Matthew Vaughn is negotiating to direct.

That's certainly out of left field. A week ago he was getting ready to direct that James Bond-esque movie with Mark Millar. But with Vaughn, you never know. Dude is constantly jumping from project to project.

After the prequels, I think we've seen the last of Palpatine.

God I hope so. If you stick in clones you may as well add in twins with amnesia.

Palpatine made his first true appearance in ROTJ. And that movie wasn't so good. Then he appeared in the prequels. And those movies sucked. Putting Palpatine in a Star Wars movie is a sign that it will be pretty bad.

I'm wondering if/hoping that Disney is going to ignore the whole "restore balance to The Force" thing from the Prequels in their future films. It seriously messes with what people expect from the Star Wars universe. People don't want to see just two Jedi and two Sith in the entire galaxy. We want and expect to see Luke building an all new Jedi Order, as was done in the EU novels.

I hope Disney stick to Lucas' story treatment of VII-IX and completely obliterate the EU. No true fan of the saga would want Luuke, Lowbacca (lol) or Han kiddies showing up surely??????
It was as if a million fanboys suddenly cried out in terror...then nothing

Near the top of my wishlist for the new movies is that the science of midi-chlorians is never mentioned

There are rumors now that Disney is in talks to acquire Hasbro, maker of the Star Wars toys (and much, much more).

Speaking of which, we may finally get to see what a Star Wars movie looks like without Vader in it, lol.

What I really hope they somehow get away from is the STUPID midichlorian explanation crap of the Force. That was the stupidest idea (maybe even dumber than Jar Jar) that Lucas ever had. "Hi, I have this disease called 'the force', wanna see me levitate your dress baby?" Maybe they could come up with some explanation that Qui Gon was actually a former mental patient and didn't truly explain that to Anakin and was just off his medical droid injections while stuck on the planet.
