And now we're 5 GB. A sweep of the Cards tomorrow and we could be 4 or 4.5 back (depending on the Dodgers) and at .500 for the first time since April.

The way this season has been going, EVERYONE is still in it. Except for the Phillies, which makes me go to bed happy every....single....night. This September is already shaping up to be epic.

And the Orioles win AGAIN, and this time off of C.C., who usually treats them like he was pitching to a little-league team. I'm now in full-on panic mode. I have a bad feeling that this is going to be one long, long September.

Devastating blow. Arguably our best player out for the season. I've never felt so defeated after a huge win. I'm not giving up hope with only three weeks left in the season but this puts a huge dent in our chances.

Franklin - Angelos is a terrible owner and everyone hates him, especially in Baltimore, but I don't really see that as a reason to hate the team. The Orioles existed before he owned them and they'll exist after he owns them. Plus hes so far in the background, you never hear a peep from him.

Damn it, Boston has us down 2-1 in the 6th. Luckily, this is Boston 2012, so we might end up beating them 15-2 + get to see Pedroia punch Bobby Valentine or Ellsbury suffer another injury, or something very Boston-like. Do it for America, Pedroia. Do it for baseball.

Brewers win again. And with that our record is 71-71. It's the first time we've reached .500 since April 24th when we were 9-9. I'm going to tomorrow's game, hoping for the sweep and a winning season. (And hoping to see Chipper Jones one last time)

Go Padres.

I wish I could've seen Chipper play in my lifetime. He was always one of my favorite players growing up and he's one of those players that you just have to give respect to, regardless of your affiliation. I always forget how stacked those Braves teams were in the 90's -- Maddux, Glavine, Chipper, Schmoltz, Fred McGriff, David Justice, etc. etc.

According to my, ahem, notes, I saw him in consecutive games early last year. He went 1-7 with a single in those games.

Yeah, I grew up knowing that the Braves were the best.

That was a fun game to be at. We only scored in one inning, but fortunately it was 8 runs. Not only did we sweep the previously-hot Braves, but for I think the third night in a row, the Dodgers, Pirates and Cards all lost. It's getting to the point where the Phillies are becoming the scariest obstacle.

Honestly, Dhamon, when you look back to April, did you even dream of being able to write that in September? Or even consider them kicking ass like they have been this year?
