The premiere got 9.6 million viewers. The most for an NBC comedy since Outsourced. I s--t you not.

outsourced started in nbc's prime time thursday night lineup, go on is a little more impressive seeing as it doesn't have the office, community, and parks n rec to bring an audience. guess all those olympic spots might have helped out.

Plus, "Go On" is a good show. It's "Community" but without the meta. With "30 Rock" in its final season and "The Office" nearly its end as well, "Go On" is quickly getting ready for that prestigous Thursday night timeslot. And speaking of ratings, when the pilot aired during the Olympics, it got 16 million viewers. So, the drop in its premiere is not too bad.

Exactly - the comparison in viewer numbers means little - because they're like apples and oranges.

I mean, how many of us really thought Outsourced had legs? few I bet - Perry's show looks like it has more than one joke to offer.

Last night was the return of NBC's Thursday Night Line-Up and the ratings were terrible. "Go On" is doing better than all those shows. So, keep an eye on this series. It'll move to Thursdays a lot sooner than expected.

i said this in the pnr thread, i had no idea they were coming back last night. they really need to advertise more, especially during football games (when do people watch nbc otherwise?). i had literally seen 0 ads for the return of the thursday night lineup. not one.

Pilot -16 million viewers (aired during the Olympics)
ep2 - 9.6 million viewers
ep3 - 9.2 million viewers

THE NEW NORMAL:

Pilot - 6.8 million viewers
ep2 - 7 million viewers
ep3 - 6 million viewers

THE OFFICE (Thursday's Biggest Hit):
s9 premiere - 4.3 million viewers

"Go On" and "The New Normal" will be on Thursday nights before mid-season. Question is, which shows are getting the boot? "Up All Night" is definitely a contender. That show may even get cancelled. "Parks and Rec" isn't looking too good either. ALTHOUGH, with "The Office" and "30 Rock" in their final seasons, they have to keep something around for next season. As for "Community", it might have a chance for a 4th season just to fill empty spots.
