When I think about waiting for an indefinite Blu-ray set, I'm reminded of Better Off Ted. The show where i'm still waiting for Season 2 to be released on DVD. Same with Malcolm in the Middle, for that matter.

All of them are quite alone, some involuntarily, some by their own hand, some without realizing it, but none of them come to the study room table with the emotional advantages held by that mythical creature known as "a normal person." There are no normal people, there are just different kinds of weird, all of it is human and all humanity is better than everything inhuman. So I urge you to keep expressing yourself as honestly as you can, and know that the backpedals and second-guesses really aren't necessary - they don't hurt but they're wasting your time - because when you are truly human, as we all are, and when that is your honest message to anyone, you are beyond reproach, there is no way to screw it up. I love Abed very much, too, for the obvious reason that he's a character able to connect with others through comparatively limited channels. I had a TV show, he has ...other people's TV shows. You have a reddit account. And maybe a bunch of other ways. And when you tell me that our show was somehow helpful to you, that it somehow inspired you to use whatever channels you have to connect yourself to others, well, water squirts out of my eyes, because there's no higher goal a writer (or carpenter or zookeeper or bank robber) can have. So thank you. As for the idea of me never seeing what you have to say: it may often be true, but I think what the internet, which is increasingly becoming the real world, needs most, is a big fat dose of everybody assuming that EVERYBODY CAN SEE THEM. I think we have to stop using this place as a toilet or an Eyes-Wide-Shut orgy and start using it to be who we really are because I don't see a lot of roller rinks being built and we're running out of mountains to climb, so, better or worse, this is it, we are all entering Abed's box now. The (very R-rated) outtakes on these DVD sets are almost as fun as the episodes.

Bought the third season, watching it now. It's funny to see how early they started the "alternate reality" theme. In the first episode the Dean has an "evil Spock" goatee. In the second episode there's a second Annie (Annie Kim) and the episode's about two UNs from "alternate earths."

BIG NEWS: Community will no longer air on Friday's. Grimm is doing so well for the network that they wanna keep the show on that timeslot. Right now, no decision has been made as to when or where it will air. Here's my guess. Go On and The New Normal are getting higher ratings than the current Thursday night line-up. So, I'm guessing that as soon as 30 Rock and The Office conclude their runs, both shows will be moved to Thursday. So, with two new empty slots on Tuesday, Community and Whitney will fill the slots.

NBC Press Release:

Given the success we’ve had for the past four weeks – including winning the first week of the season in A18-49 – we’ve decided to continue to concentrate our promotional strength on our new NBC shows that are scheduled Monday through Wednesday and have therefore decided to hold COMMUNITY and WHITNEY from their previously announced premieres of October 19th. Without having to launch these comedies on Friday at this time, we can keep our promotion focused on earlier in the week — plus we will have both comedies in our back pocket if we need to make any schedule changes on those nights. When we have a better idea of viewing patterns in the next few weeks, we will announce new season premieres of WHITNEY and COMMUNITY.

Chevy Chase still hates the show. In a very recent interview, he said the show was boring and he only makes it for the money.
