Season 4 premieres on October 19. Almost a month after every other network show has launched their new season.

nbc is weird. staggering everything like that. didn't they just hire some chick that has no management experience to run their programming? sounds like a smart move...

It could go either way. By then, people will have already created their viewing habits. But also, it eliminates some competition since certain new shows will have gotten cancelled.

Shows might have been cancelled or people might just have dropped them from there viewing habits coz they aren't to their tastes. I don't see this as a bad thing or a good thing, it is mearly a thing.

Community is, once again, creating controversy. The video game episode has been entered into consideration for the Emmy's animation category. This is the second time the show has entered an episode for that category. Last year, they entered the stop-motion Christmas episode.

The animation industry is now upset because it's an Emmy double-standard. If an animated show wants to compete against live-action programming they cannot enter themselves for the animation category. And yet, Community is allowed to enter themselves in both for obvious reasons. So, the animation industry now wants the Emmy's to either disqualify Community for animation or allow animated programs a shot against live-action programs without withdrawing from the animation categories.

In 1993 and 1994, The Simpsons infamously withdrew from the animation category for a shot in the main comedy categories but that resulted in the show not getting a single nomination for two years. The Flintstones and Family Guy are the only two animated shows to successfully to be nominated against live-action programs.

I agree that Community shouldn't get to compete in the animation category. That's ridiculous.

To Whom It May Concern:

Television Academy

We the undersigned animation showrunners and writers desire to address what we have regarded as a pernicious and unfair ruling by the Academy for the past 20 years, which we believe now, more than ever, should be redressed.

We have been told that animated program writers could not also submit their work for writing Emmys, for reasons we never understood, but supposedly pertaining to the purity of the branches.

This is why no one was more startled than we when last year “Community” was able to submit for comedy series, writing, and animated program, in the face of everything we had been told for two decades. We were told that for some reason, a one-time waiver was granted.

Imagine our surprise when this year we see “Community” once again eligible for comedy series, writing, animated program, and short-form animated program. This letter is in no way intended to be a slight on the terrific show “Community” but a request from us to enjoy the very same rights they now do. Clearly the Academy’s ban on submitting in multiple categories is being enforced in an arbitrary and unfair manner. We therefore request that we also be able to submit our programs for both animation and comedy series as well as in the writing category.

Respectfully,

Comic Con

Friday, July 13
10-11 AM — Community
Chevy Chase won’t be there — he’s still on the show but can’t make it to San Diego. Dan Harmon won’t be there — NBC replaced the Community creator. But Joel McHale, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Yvette Nicole Brown and Alison Brie are in the convention center for the first time. After the off-screen fireworks and questions about the show’s future, their Q&A for Community’s fourth season won’t just be another Greendale study group. Ballroom 20

At Comic-Con today, it was revealed that some of the characters will be graduating from Greendale this season. There will be less focus on the school and more on their everyday lives.

As much as I love this show I'm not sure I have seen any of the episodes more than once. WHich is wy it's going to obe awesome going through seasons 1 and 2 whih I bought on DVD today.

It was interesting to see that the pilot wasn't all that great. I wonder if I would have watched the second episode air if it hadn't been for Abed's "Breakfast Club" outburst near the end of the pilot which was freaking hilarious. It's not until episode 3 do you start to see the great quirkiness arise.

Oh, and Abed says "Cool. Cool-cool-cool" in the pilot. Very quietly.

Best Buy. They were $15 and $17, I think.

I was about to leave and noticed the Breaking Bad seasons were $13....on blu-ray. Couldn't buy everything.

NBC (or Sony, whatever) is really lacking on releasing their TV comedies on Blu-ray. The Office is the only one that currently gets one. Hopefully soon. I've held off buying seasons two and three of Community for that reason.

That's why I hadn't bought them either...til I realized I don't really care. Comedies on DVD is fine. Not to mention they might never do it for a show like this.

Also, network TV shows are shot in such different quality than cable shows that it doesn't really transfer to Blu-Ray well.

It's always better than DVD and in 2012 it should be standard, especially for network shows.

I agree 100% with Franklin. I know the content is the same but it just feels inferior.
