A new feature documentary from Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures, Columbia Pictures, Passion Pictures and Red Box Films, Everything or Nothing: The Untold Story of 007, will be also be unveiled, country-specific details to follow. Directed by Stevan Riley (Fire In Babylon), Everything or Nothing focuses on three men with a shared dream – Bond producers Albert R. Broccoli, Harry Saltzman and author Ian Fleming. It’s the thrilling and inspiring narrative behind the longest running film franchise in cinema history which began in 1962.

Further worldwide events celebrating Bond’s golden anniversary include a global online and live auction charity event of 50 lots to benefit twelve charitable institutions organized by Christie´s in London (full details at
www.christies.com/bond), a global survey to discover the favorite Bond film by country, a film retrospective at the Museum of Modern Art in New York, a Music of Bond night in Los Angeles hosted by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and an exhibition, “Designing 007: 50 Years of Bond Style,” at TIFF in Toronto. Leading up to Global James Bond Day, for the first time ever fans can own all 22 films in the franchise on Blu-ray Disc in one comprehensive collection with BOND 50, releasing worldwide beginning September 24. MGM went bankrupt. And the studio hasn't completely recovered yet. So, while I hope they go back to bi-annual releases, we're gonna have to take the wait-and-see approach.

I guess I never equated Bond quality with quanity. The Connery movies came out pretty damn fast. It's not like they ask for scripts in twice the time when there's a large gap between movies.

It has been 50 years and 23 movies. A little late to start complaining about quantity. The series is famous for its longevity. Let's keep it that way. One film every two years is fine to me.

From 1967 to 2002, Bond movies were made every two years with only a handful of exceptions. Was that a bad decision? On the positive side, this is when the franchise showcased its true appeal. It proved that it could survive without Sean Connery and within various decades. On the negative side, we got seven installments with Roger Moore and two films featuring Timothy Dalton that the masses didn't care about. To me, the so-called "quantity" is what makes the series stand-out. 50 Years and 23 Movies; only James Bond can say that. So I say, keep marching on.

I wouldn't say "The masses didin't care about" since every film more than made back its budget and all but one Moore film made over 100 million(with budgets under 35) in their time.

Critics might have panned them but the masses still needed their Bond fix.
