If I was underneath that with an airtank, I'd drown down there because I'd never come up, lol.

i hate shark week.
the one episode i saw, they said the sharks were attacking the cameras on the bottom of the ocean because they were shiny, not because ya know, sharks hunt by sensing the electromagnetic pulse of their prey. great science right there, bright lights, thats why sharks attack cameras... and these people are being paid. but the main reason i hate it is because they monopolize shark programming. they act like they are as important as girl scout cookies, only coming out once a year. they lock up everything else with any mention of sharks on it for this little week period, so they can flood it with non scientific pontificating to get you to look at big sharks. then you have the people hunting for that 'perfect shot' where you get to see what 2 sharks the whole time (sometimes it is just the same shark, different cameras)? they just build 'tension' throughout the episode some how, never really showing you sharks, or giving you information until the last 10 minutes... on a show during SHARK WEEK. i want SHARKS. shark week sucks.

Let me ask you this: Do you read about shark research during the rest of the year? Do you pay attention to the conservation efforts being made across the globe once the "week" is over? I do. Been doing it since I was a little kid. Because I actually like these animals. And, while shark week isn't the perfect model, it gets people interested. And that's the point. It's been a decent show case for the types research happening over the course of each year, and this year was actually pretty good about focusing on that more. So, unless you actually care about sharks outside of Shark Week, shut the **** up.

shark week is just a whore for ratings is all, don't let them trick you into thinking they care about the animals. they just have to pay the mortgage.

So today I had an interestingly horrid argument at the mall with a Brit who 'accidentally tapped' my bumper while pulling into his stall. I swear, I've never come across a Brit who I couldn't completely understand, word for word. But today, I actually met one that just blew my mind with just how thick his pigon slang was. Honestly, by the end of it I was just happy to get his car rental agent on the phone to deal with her instead. I wonder if his own friends even understand what he's saying half the god damn time!

You work outside 'pool then? I'm usually OK with the Scouse accent seeing as Stoke's isn't a million miles away.

No I work in the Liver building!
Just a few people I work with aren't from here and my accent is pretty strong. When I worked in Plymouth no one could understand me ha ha. Work meetings were awkward. |

One of my friends from Liverpool used to say the only accent in England he hated was the Birmingham one. Is it that bad?
