The American version of Death at a Funeral is the same movie. I don't think they even bothered to change the script at all, maybe changed the odd character name. Even Tyrion Lannister was in both!

About half of the jokes in Scary Movie are specific references. I mean, I don't think the scene with Anna Faris' pubic hair is a spoof of a certain movie or TV show.

There are only two major spanish networks. Compared to the 4 english networks. Or 5 if you wanna include the CW. As a result, they reach a much wider audience. Univision, on a daily basis, out-performs all the english networks. They're actually #1 in the 18-49 demographic. You think The Big Bang Theory is popular? It's nothing compared to the highest-rated soap opera. You think the NFL is popular? It's only a fraction of the audience that Soccer gets.

"Una Maid en Manhattan" averaged 1.6 million viewers per episode. To put that in perspective, the nearly cancelled and uber-nichey Community has never failed to get at least two million viewers for a single episode.

It airs 5 days per week. That's 1.6 million viewers per day. Would Community average 2 million viewers if it aired Monday thru Friday? As you said, it barely survives the one day it airs.

Let's all agree that Freddy Got Fingered is the greatest comedy of the '2000s.

Pretty much.

As for most of the movies being posted here, some of them are fun movies, but hardly great comedies. In Bruges, Dodgeball, and I guess the hangerover were pretty cool. But they are lacking from what some of the best comedies have. Was shaun of the dead the 90s or 2000s? i liked that one, and hot fuzz. Kinda liked Tropic Thunder and Pineapple express, just not as much as other comedies.

It is a shame that comedies have gone down hill the most in recent years, because growing up it was always my favorite genre. Young Frankenstein, Marx Brothers, Silver Streak, Dr. Strangelove, Airplane, Major League, Wayne's World, Blues Brothers, Office Space, Friday, Dumb and Dumber, Beetlejuice, Ghostbusters, Swingers, and just a bunch of great stuff.

Oh, and best comedy of the 2000s? Kiss kiss bang bang. but that probably isn't true, but that is the best off the top of my head. I was thinking maybe the cohen brothers might have had a good comedy in the 2000s, but I can only think of Burn after reading, which was meh.

Does Inglorious Bastards count as a comedy? i did laugh several times during it

I liked parts of it. I heard the sequel had a little more of a punch to it.

Well, I just watched Anchorman for the first time.

I think I laughed about 3 times (only once in the first 55 minutes)
Pretty sad to say that the funniest part was the outtakes in the ending credits.

I think I'd have to be pretty wasted to find the rest of it funny

I haven't seen it since it came out. I liked it, but not enough to love it like most. I should watch it again. I do remember laughing pretty hard when jack black drop kicked the dog on the bridge. Probably the only Tim jack black made me laugh

I'd argue The Hangover took the crown. People paid to see the sequel which was a carbon copy of the original. That's how much they enjoyed the first movie. They paid to see it twice.

I'd say the Hangover is the most popular comedy with lads. I don't know anyone who didn't enjoy the first one.

I remember Anchorman cracking me up at the time but have never felt the need to watch it again. My rather hated it that much he turned it off after half an hour, and he's not the only person I know who hates it. Very hit and miss.
