Qyburn is an interesting fellow. Has he been cast at all?
Okay, so how many different "resurrection" types have we seen from this series? -There is the Dondarrion "kiss of life" which requires a red priest/priestess. -There are the drowned men in the iron isle. -There's Patchface, who may or may not be related to drowned men. -There's the wights in the north, and then whatever happened to Coldhands. -There's the warging rebirth, i.e. Varamyr -There's whatever happened with Pate in Oldtown. -There's whatever may be happening with Qyburn and Gergor Clegane/Robert Strong Holw is it all going to tie in together? |

I think it will really come down to how GRRM decides to resolve the religious differences.... I can see a scenario where the wights take control over all those who are the living dead except for maybe those kissed by fire like Cat. It would add a little more of a personal battle to the fight against the wights in some instances. I can also see a scenario where everyone has undead expect the sparrows and the sparrows suffer for it. But in the end it will all be decided by how GRRM writes the different faiths he's installed in this world and their perception of the undead.
And no I've heard no casting... or even inclusion... of Qyburn for season 3, it may be he's not introduced until season 4.

I'm about 600 pages into A Dance With Dragons after a long hiatus. One thing that has irritated me (and bored me) to no end is Dany's infatuation with Daario. What exactly does she find so attractive about him?

Ha, I complained about that as well. The schoolgirl crush on the hunky guy brings my respect for her down fast.

Dany's story line was fairly disappointing in the last book. I just hope GRRM doesn't tarnish one of his best characters. I don't remember much of what happened to her, truth be told.

I've been away for a while but I can't get enough of this series. Martin is a modern day Tolkien. Has anyone else read his dreamsongs anthologies? The hedge knight is a great little side story in the universe. I also highly recommend the game of thrones board game for those of us with friends. Its like the best of risk, magic the gathering, and warhammer 40k in one game. The only problem with it is that with less than 6 players baratheon is almost unstoppable.

Yeah, I don't know if they'll get that far. I know they plan on an expansion for Dances with Dragons which basically has new character cards and a new board set up to mirror whats happening at that point in the series.

Man, I wish I had a few friends that were into board games and the books. It sounds like a lot of fun.

On a side note, am I the only one wondering why we haven't seen a board game for Cyvasse?

All right, so I finally finished it. It really turned around for me. At first I thought it was just continuing the mediocrity from the past book, but now I have to say it's one of GRRM's most well-written books to date. I wasn't surprised, but it was sad to see Quentyn die.

Glad to hear you liked it. Its my third favorite book in the series and gives me hope that the rest of the series will finish strong.
And yeah, that was unfortunate. Fun to read though..
