To be fair, he's only directed three movies since then. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, which I think we all agreed that we're blaming Lucas. And then Tintin and War Horse. I wasn't crazy about either of those, but neither film was bad.

Tin Tin was decent but hardly worth writing home about.

I liked Tintin for what it was, but they sort of missed the point of the series....which is the mystery. They made it more like Indiana Jones. This is coming from a fan of the comic series too...

Coming from a director who did "Indiana Jones" I see why he went down that road. But sadly... Tin Tin was better than Kingdom of Krystal Skull

Tin Tin was awful. Everything's better than Indy 4. (If they wanted me to type out that huge title every time, they should have made a better movie.)

Yeah, I know, but Tintin is a comic series that relies heavily on mystery and suspense. This was wall-to-wall action with zero emphasis on plot.

Trailer just screamed Oscar bait, not sure I'm sold, but I like the voice.

Not only is it Oscar-bait, but it reminds me of Amistad. Remember that Amistad was supposed to be "the schindler's list of slavery" but 90% of the film took place in a court house and everyone thought it was boring as f--k? I'm getting the same vibe from the trailer. If the movie is mostly Lincoln in the oval office arguing with his staff, I can see this being less-than-stellar.

I was a bit thrown off by the voice, not that i have ever heard Lincoln speak, in the trailer he didn't sound i like i envisioned, but regardless this gets a gurantee Academy award nominee for DDL. I agree though, this movie does look like it might end up being pretty boring.
